Have the Kings to win the Stanley Cup @ 34/1.

$50 to win $1,700

How should I go about Hedging this?

Some Insight?

I think the Kings win the cup, any way I can hedge this on a game to game basis?

I got almost same ticket. My $50 only pays about $992. I'm hoping for a game 7 Jersey win for better value to hedge.

Kings SHOULD be a slight fav in the finals considering their road record. just bet either the Devils or Rangers series at +$$$

Yeah, I know rat. Just not one to hedge normally. Hate doing things the "right way" . was thinking about taking the other team should an elimination game come the Kings way. Do you think that's too risky?

Ahh, I'm OLD and CAUTIOUS. I agree that the Kings SHOULD be able to beat either the Devils or Rangers BUT you NEVER KNOW, I would probably put enough to at LEAST get a dime out of it IF something shitty happens. HEY you got the ADVANTAGE @ +$$$

I agree with LERINK, even if you put a few hundred on the team from the east, I assume you would still be happy with the large amount that you will get if the kings wi. btw the oilers in '83 had only 1 playoff loss going into the Stanley Cup finals and they got swept by the Islanders who had 5 losses going into it. Just saying anything is possible but if you want to take the risk on LA then go for it. I got a series bet on them too and I plan to take the east team in 7 games at much better odds then the flat series price

i think kings wont be the favorite
its pick em at max. probably slight dog.

hedge a 500 dollar bet on devils or rangers, you will probably be able to get the eastern team at about +800 so your worst case scenario is you win 800 bucks lol...

But i think kings win easily no matter who it is, but i think its the devils

Couple reasons in my mind.

1 only 2 loses in playoffs

2 undefeated on road

As a kings fan hope you are right love to get them at + money

honestly i think its a pickem in the final.
i still think the rangers win the cup.

Yeah, I guess you're all right. Would be foolish not to hedge somewhat. Here's to hoping I can get the Eastern conference champion at + Money.

I have a futures on New Jersey, Im going to hedge it, I dont see the Kings losing in the finals, the LA steamroll continues I think. So if I had an LA futures, Id roll with it.

I would definitely not take this advice.  Why not guarantee yourself a profit?  Just because your original stake wasn't very much doesn't mean you shouldn't guarantee yourself a handsome profit.  It all comes down to personal greed here.

Right now the Rangers are +600 and the Devils are +210.

Why not put $200 on The devils and $100 on the Rangers right now?

Kings win- $1700 - $200- $100 = $1400

Devils Win- $620 - $50 - $100 = $470 profit

Rangers Win - $700 - $50 - $200 = $450 profit

You're telling me you still wouldn't take $1,400 of profit if your original bet wins, knowing you can't lose?

Rangers have to do a 1994 to even GET there

and duke8628 makes a good point. "You're telling me you still wouldn't take $1,400 of profit if your original bet wins, knowing you can't lose?"

Wait till finals are set and slap $800 on the east at probably even money. Profit of $750 at least if the east wins.

assuming the east team is +120ish i'd put $700 on the east

if east wins the cup profit = 800ish

if kings wins the cup profit = 1000ish

if you do that you're basically putting in a new bet:
Risk 0
To Win 800 or 1000

seems like a no brainer...
