huge flyers fan here as well polar bear.  lots of things have to happen.  hard to speculate with the up and down ways of the flyers this year....and the league for that matter....

The absolute best thing that could happen to Philly is them falling to the 6th seed.

Would the Devils really want to win Saturday if it comes down to that and play the Pens or rest players and play the Panthers?  That would be interesting.

By the looks of the tweet, it appears that you could be correct. That and Marty wants to try and pad his career stats before the inevitable hits him... the fact that he's getting old... maybe too old.

I really dislike his team... but he's always been one of my favorite players.

as a neutral, but true hockey fan after witnessing saturdays game, a flyers/panther match up would be a little shy of a yawn. however if i had to put the shoes on of a flyer or penguin fan, i could see the reasoning, because nobody would come out of the battle of pennsylvania alive! but i would love to see it!

They better not be. BUT washington could still end up 3rd and Florida 8th (it would annoy me but that would actually be some hockey justice)

I like NJ here also PB... There's a reason they are putting Brodeur out there... and that reason is usually to try and win the game. Plus Detroit is still not clicking 100% or even 90%... and a B2B situation does not help them or thier goalie Howard vs a stingy, veteran squad like New Jersey... Marty and his little red devils are not exactly the Bluejackets and Mason/York.

As for the BUF/PHI game I highly suggest taking the Over-1.5 in the first period... I should not have to explain but I will... Bryzgalov and Philly have been starting games slow for some time now. Bryz is still shaking off some rust and BOTH teams have depleted defensive units... BOTH teams can score with speed against those depleted defensive units... check the reason 1st period stats for both teams. I think my reasoning is more than clear here.

With so much to choose from tomorrow I can limit selections to the cream of the crop... and the Buf/Phi Over-1.5 1st period is as good as it gets.
