I believe that we all hit bad phases...but did you even look at the trends??
Read this and then comeback to me as to why you would bet on Philly
Best of luck in the future. I really mean that, but dont get angry when trends show everything against what you bet on!

Comment much appreciated. Trend or no trend, Philly would have won had I bet the Sens
Just been lousy luck on most bets made so far this year.
Need a fucking break or a noose

you have to watch out for these covers trends, they go back to far, last 31 in ottawa goes back to when none of the players on either team were in the nhl. these next 2 statements are facts also, home team is 6-4 last 10, phil is 2-4 last six in ottawa, dosent look the same does it.

I agree, but trends are trends. If you want to bet against trends and edges go ahead. I try not to!
Look at Capitals, they havent won since 93 in San Jose and they lost last night. SOmething has to be said with travel, teams, time zone.
ANother edge is Oilers losing 10 times this year when tied after two periods. You might lose the next one..but the bet is against the Oilers.
I am a nobody with lots of spare time but I try to stick with trends. Last week when I bet with Hawks against Philly I took it up the ass...SUre enough all the trends and edges had Philly winning easy.
Oh well, CHeers all.

I realize trends can be manipulated. I also realize that teams from 5 years ago are totally different and have very few of the same players today.
However, how does one explain the Philly/Ottawa Trends that I posted above.
With yesterdays loss Flyers are 6-21-5 in last 32 meetings in Ottawa and home team is 20-7 in last 27 meetings
It has to mean something.
Add in the fact that Ottawa was the Underdog and that makes me bet on the Sens 100% of the time.
BOL TO ALL!

There's an old accounting proverb; "Torture the data long enough, and it will confess to anything."
is that anything like "how much is 2 + 2?" "how much do you WANT it to be?" ![]()

That's just it, it DOESN'T have to mean anything. trends like that are garbage, especially since they go far back, back to when Ottawa were perennial winners. I took Philly as well, even after reading the trends, because they shouldn't mean as much when looking at the immediate game in front of you. At the end of the day, who is the better hockey team? Philly. Add to that the fact that I took them at a modest -115, and the potential payout was well worth taking Philly. I don't regret the pick at all, Ottawa was outplayed and outshot, had a miraculous 3rd period, and there's the game. I took Philly last night, and I'd take them over Ottawa any night..
