Behind yet another brilliant performance by
Khabibulin the Oilers manager to win at Montreal on Tuesday by 3-1 in a game
where they were outshoot 29-14(!). If anyone doubted the importance of keepers
in ice hockey, Edmonton’s record shows that they can prove to be the most
important player in a team. Defense wins you points but I they will need more
than Khabibulin to win this one against the Bruins.
The Champions seem to be be back on the right
track, on a winning streak where they won every game by more than one goal, led
by Seguin who has been hot lately.
It’s a favorable matchup for the Bruins, with an
extra day of rest in relation to their opponents they keep are in a home stand
while Edmonton is on a road trip. We would need to go back 11 years to see
Boston lose to Edmonton. No doubts that Boston has the quality edge on this
one, I really can’t believe that Edmonton will be able to keep this record, you
can’t expect to win on a regular basis when depending so much on your keeper
and allowing yourself to be outshot regularly.
