I know this may be a little results oriented based on the results of the first period vs injured, depleted and tired Montreal

But look at this team, they have the makings of a good playoff team, they have goaltending and they have the offense and Defense with the addition of McCabe etc I think NYR have a shot to go deep in playoffs.

Whats current futures on NYR to win cup?

Rags can sure fill the net when they get it going AND "King Henrik" is a world class goaltender when he's on.

could definately see them as a "dark horse" much the same as the Flyers were last playoffs. https://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/ , which is usually LV Hilton odds, shows them 35-1 for the Cup.

they not only beat an injured habs team on a back to back but stomped on them. they have now won 5 of 6 games with all the wins quality wins.  they won at sj 3-2 in a so.  pounded the flyers 7-0. beat ott at ott 4-1 vs an ott team who beat a hot devil team twice and they destroyed an islander team who has played very well in the 2nd half. so i think its more then just beating an injured hab team. remember this is the 1st time pretty much all year that there having gabby make an impact and earning his paycheck.  the 1st time were pretty much all healthy as a team.  we have mccabe as a veteran presence on defense with the young emerging defensemen. if they score like this with lundqvist in net they have a shot!   they also beat the caps 3 of 4 and beat the pens twice when crosby was playing.

Rangers will be playing Philly or the Caps in the 1st round.  Well it&#x27;s nice to make the playoffs.  Lundy will have to carry the team it they are to win.  He will have to keep a GAA of under 2.00 and save% of at least .920 to even have a shot.

I think this year is too wide open as for who could get the cup. I think we will see more of last year where teams like Philly get in on the last game of the season and make a run, a team like the Habs with a hot goalie like Jaro Halak. Could be Jonas Hiller this year. But of all year for Vancouver to win it all, this is it.

I disagree with this thread. The Habs,Bruins,Caps (without Green) Flyers are all better and deeper and have guys that can put pucks in the net in the playoffs. I dont think the Rangers see rd 2...they wont get swept or anything but I dont think they win a round

Taking a few longshots in either conference seems like a good idea......&#xD;&#xA;sure worked last years playoffs with the Flyers. they were 25-1 for the Eastern Conference (WON) and 50-1 for the Cup (lost in 6) at the start of the playoffs after "squeeking in" last game of the regular season
