tonight's in game thread was fun - but lots of debbie downers for the guys who are supposed to be rooting for canada.
instead 'our' canadian guys are still whining that brodeur should be in goal.
so let's kill this once and for all.
brodeur was the #1 goalie - he got a chance in the usa game and blew it! babcock, respected hoceky analyst mckenzie said it and even brodeur is gracious about being the backup.
let's review brodeur. do we really have to rehash this?
swiss first goal on marty was to his glove side- that is marty's strong trump card, and he got beat, furthermore, the swiss shooter was a left shot coming wide on the left side. that means simply as a goalie you come out to get the angle cut down so the far side should never be in question.
usa game goals
2,3 and 4 especially 2,3 were all marty's fault. no one else to blame.
now b4 some devils fan, or marty fan rips this thread apart.
marty will get his # retired.
get a key to the city.
go to the hall of fame
might be regarded as one of the best.
you marty fans will bask in glory- one day soon.
right now though this is a one game elimation tourney, and he lost his chance. can you at least see that?
now luongo might not be the best around, but he is solid. fleury is too. all these guys are capable.
once in playoff mode all teams know you can't go switching goalies at this point. marty could get his chance if luongo looks bad.
the crowd gets into it by chanting looooooooo when he makes any save. that in itself is a huge boost to canada.
the coaches and staff are not going to change cuz some of u want marty.
so live with the decision.
we got some good mojo going, with the way canada plays at both ends you could argue you could put an old man in goal, and we would still win.
so have fun and enjoy. canada is playing well, join us marty backers- he is gracious and is glad to be a part of the team.
don't let the fact he is not going to start in goal ruin your experience of a now rejuvenated team canada.
