November 11-10 (+0.17); 4-4 sides (+0.09), 7-5 totals (+1.08), 0-1 puck line (-1.00)
December 48-40 (+23.57); 18-13 sides w/ overtime (+8.95); 13-4 sides
reg. (+11.78); 11-9 totals (+0.94); 1-2 team totals (-1.18); 5-12
overtime (+3.08)
2-1 +1.17 last night losing NY Rangers -0.5 +128, winning New Jersey -0.5 +106 and San Jose -0.5 +111.
Montreal w/ ot +120 - This is a dangerous game of course since it's the final game of a 7 game road trip for Montreal, but the Canadiens will probably have more fans in Florida for this game than the Panthers will. This was on display in the 2:1 overtime victory against Tampa Bay last night. On this road trip, Montreal is 5-1 with 3 of those victories coming in overtime. They've scored 19 goals while allowing 11. Montreal has won 5 of the last 6 meetings, so I can't see being as much as a favorite as the books have made them.
Colorado w/ ot +166 - There is absolutely no reason Detroit should be laying these kind of odds in their current state. In their last 4 games the Red Wings have managed 2 goals while getting shutout 3 times. Detroit has lost 4 of their last 5 games while Colorado continues to surprise. Last night the Avalanche picked up a 4:3 win in Ottawa. Scoring hasn't been a problem for the Avalanche in their last 5 games as they've tallied 4, 4, 2, 4, and 5 goals while picking up 4 wins. Colorado has won 8 of their last 11 games including 4 consecutive on the road 4:3 at Ottawa, 4:3 at Minnesota, 4:0 at St. Louis, and 3:2 at Columbus. This is the 3rd meeting this year with Colorado winning the first 2 in October when Detroit was much healthier than they are now. Last year the Avalanche took 3 out of 4 from a much better Detroit team than this year's hobbled version. These odds are absolutely astonishing regardless of Colorado playing on no rest.
Calgary reg. -0.5 -124 - On Monday, Calgary w/ ot -105 was a winner in Edmonton as the Flames won 4:1. Edmonton took the early lead but couldn't manage another goal as they went 0 for 5 on the power play. Last night the Oilers ended their 7 game losing streak by defeating Toronto 3:1, but to expect a similar performance defensively is unlikely. Their penalty kill has been very poor in the last 5 games allowing 9 power play goals in 23 opportunities. Calgary has won 7 of the last 8 meetings including all 4 meetings this year.
Odds aren't available for some other games, but I am getting these out there since I think the odds on Colorado and Montreal will drop. Colorado may lose, but these odds are from another planet. Have my eye on Carolina, Chicago - New Jersey overtime (Brodeur?).

Carolina reg. -0.5 +133 -The Rangers have looked lethargic and uninspired since the Christmas break. Carolina has been playing better hockey recently ever since they rallied back from 3:0 down against the Flyers. No matter what the coach says about bouncing back here, I see a very difficult game for the Rangers. Carolina is desperate for points and with the Rangers hosting the rematch Saturday night, I wouldn't be surprised if they lack energy tonight once again. The Hurricanes have the players to go on a run.
No word on Brodeur yet.

Completely agree with your Colorado analysis and the ridiculous price tag of Detroit. Avs are doing much better than the line they've received. Great value for a very good team....

Depressed you don't like the Under in the FLA/MON game?
No real opinion on the totals for tonight, didn't dig too deep
New Jersey w/ ot +174 - Odds are too high for a team of this caliber. The Blackhawks allowed 5 goals to a struggling Dallas team.
Chicago - New Jersey goes to overtime +310 - The Devils haven't gone to overtime in 11 games, but this is a perfect opportunity. Both teams are playing well.
Have a good night!
