The last team to win the Stanley Cup two years in a row ON THE ROAD were the Montreal Canadiens. They actually did it 3 years in a row...1975-76 in Philly, 1976-77 in Boston, and 1977-78 also in Boston.
Chris Chelios will NOT have his name on the Stanley Cup this year. He only played in 24 regular season games which is 17 games short of the qualifying 41. As well, he hasn't played in any of the 5 games of the final series so far (and isn't expected to play tonight or in game 7, if necessary). As a side note, the rumor is that if the Wings win, they will petition to have his name put on the Cup. HOWEVER, that would require the "OK" from Chris' best friend, Gary Bettman.
As well, if the Wings win, Darren Helm will set a record for the player having played the fewest amount of regular season games while having his name on the cup twice. He has played 23 regular season games in the past 2 seasons and game 6 will be his 39th playoff game.
There ya have it, folks. A little bit of trivia for y'all. I hope to be around more during the off-season. BOL to all bettors and fans tonight.

I actually didnt even have to look that one up I just remember them killing Minnesota 8-0 in game 6 that year and then they swept Chicago the next year
these radio and TV/internet notes on the NHL have been wrong all playoffs....
last week ESPN had a stat that The Red Wings are 6-0 in Game 2s of the finals since losing to Montreal in 1954,
outscoring opponents 25-9.
1995 finals they got swept..I wrote to ESPN.com they blamed the AP for giving them bad info
