I can't see Neids going back to the Devils. After all .. He left to be with his brother for less money. And right now even without Zubrus NJ still wouldn't have the cap space for him.
I can see Lou just leaving things the way they are. No major changes. Pandolfo or Rupp could be up for grabs. Maybe minor league changes.

The Leafs will move Antropov (and maybe Kubina, if he waives his no-trade clause). I wouldn't stake my life on it, but I'd be very surprised if Kaberle gets traded. A strong puck-moving defenseman at $4.25 million is next to impossible to come by these days.

Tkachuk has a no movement clause and will be a lot more selective this time in the teams he is willing to be traded to if management decides to try to move him. 2 years ago he went to Atlanta who was just fighting to make the playoffs. I think he would be willing to go to a top team (Cup contender) only this time.
Boston makes a lot of sense because they are obviously one of the top teams and that is his hometown. He would also give the B's another big forward to go with Lucic and Wheeler, so the B's would have a physical force on their top 3 lines to balance out their smaller forwards if they so choose to spread those 3 big guys out. However, I still think the B's will also make a run at a defenseman.
STL has 2 games left before the deadline. I think if they pick up 3 points in those 2 games, they will stand pat. If they lose both games, all bets are off. I hope they are sellers and acquire more propects and/or picks because I don't think they will make the playoffs.
There are other rumors floating around that the Blues might make a run at re-acquiring Chris Pronger. I think that is very unlikely because of the price tag. The Blues are still on the hook for another 4 million next year to McKee and 5 million to Kariya. Obviously, STL has plenty of young players to trade if they decide to go for Pronger. Perron and Pietrangelo are the 2 names that have come up. In theory, Pronger would help run the PP until Erik Johnson is ready to take over in a couple of years.
Pronger has one year left on his deal, but would likely sign an extension if a trade to STL went down. Remember, Pronger's wife is a St. Louis native and perhaps he would sign an extension for less money to keep her happy and help the Blues out financially. I think Edmonton fans remember her.
I think it is much more likely that a top team tries to acquire Pronger.

The Blues are idiots if they make that deal. Give up 2 young players with great upside for a guy already in decline? I can't see it. It's gotta be just rumors like you say. Somebody should be fired if that deal actually happens.
