im friggin pissed off right now can someone answer this?

i did a 3 team parlay today
 
over 210.5 in jazz game
over 9 in braves/twins game -120
and spurs -5.5
 
and my bookie is tryin to tell me it pays 1844 for a 400 dollar parlay
 
wouldn't it be 400 to win 2275 because of the 120

no cuz a standard parlay is 6 1 which is 400 to profit 2400

Most bookies pay 5-1 on a three teamer around my parts. That would be correct if his standard payout is 5-1, not 6-1

My local pays 5-1 for 3 teamers at -110, so it actually sounds about right if thaats what yours pays and 1 game is -120.   Close anyway

alright well one more question....do you think i should argue with this guy and maybe figure out a settlement in between cuz we didn't discuss odds before making the bet and maybe get paid 2050 halfway cuz of the confusion.....
 
OR just let it go and get paid this money cuz if he really wanted to he could just be like alright well how about i dont pay you at all and what would i really do about it?
 
Need advice i just feel that i should get the full amount cuz when i risked the 400 i thought i was winning 2275

my local pys 6.5-1 for 3 teamers....
and i thought most did....
 
i dun know about this guys but with the -120, the payout will go down from the normal payout

yeah powerade, 6.5 to 1 is great odds i thought i was gettin it at 6 to 1 though as if most books normally are....and normally the parlay would've paid 400 to win 2400 but with the -120 juice in the one game it should've paid 2273

I would definatly say something and ask....
just say, my number is different and tell him the parlay paid so much right
and then ask how he figured it out and such.....
he could be just making a mathematical error
who knows....def ask but don't be hostile about it, finding a good local is a good thing so you don't want to piss him off ya know....

If you bookie pays you 5-1 on a 3 teamer he is REAMING you in the ass and that is unacceptable, 6 to 1 is almost universal, and anything less is unacceptable. Besides, when you throw in a Baseball moneyline, then he should use the true odds, for example if you have a 3 teamer baseball, and the odds are -110, -115, -115, then it wins  $567 on a $100 bet.
 
     So if this joker does pay 5 to 1 on 3 teamers, tell him that is bullshit, but also when a M/L baseball bet is thrown it it is customary to pay the true odds on this parlay, after all you are already paying juice on each play here, and then he is trying to cut out an additional %. The $2273 is the amount that you WIN on the parlay, so if you bet this on a credit account you WiN $2273, and he shouldn't take out another $400 out of your winnings. At that rate you are only winning about 4.5 X on a 3 teamer which is impossible. You can google "parlay calculator" and it shows payouts, that is the amount you win, not including your original bet.

thanks for the advice i appreciate a lot
im just a lil more frustrated cuz it was a bailout parlay that i got lucky with and if he would've paid the standard odds i would've broke right around even and when i bet the parlay thats why i bet it for 400 and now im gonna be oweing 400 which isn't too bad but its just the fact i thought if i hit the parlay i was going to be even...but hey i should just be happy i hit it i guess LOL

thanks godfather for he information....i know that this should've been discussed w/ my local before the parlay but i have never bet a parlay through him before cuz im not really a big parlay player and when i called in the bet it was at like 328 and the lakers started at 330 and i didn't even discuss odds cuz i figured it was 6-1....so i should've found this out before hand which is my fault but im still pissed that he has ridiculous odds...it wasn't even worth betting that parlay at 4.5  to 1

I think you should take what you can and run with it, Godfather makes sense but thats just what you want to hear. Sometimes the bookie can do what he wants.
