That maybe true but defense is played in the Eastern conference. In the Western conference it's more offense oriented. The suns made it to the playoffs for about a decade straight but never played a lick of defense. Untill last year really mark jackson introduced solid defense to an already offensively great Warrior team. this year warriors are playing more defense and closing the game out on defensive stops. Something warriors never had during the don nelson years. Memphis plays like an eastern conference team on the west. The spurs used to be like that but now they seem to be dependent on their scoring instead of defense. OKC did'nt play defense very well hence they lost in the finals last year.
Miami, Indiana, Chicago, Boston all guilty of playing ugly basketball. All exceptional defensive ball clubs. Most teams on the west want to flat out outscore you ABA style. The Eastern conference wants to stop you from scoring altogether.
