...."united we stand, divided we part'

..... "strength in numbers"

........ "many hands make light work"

The idea here is teamwork, the same as we have been watching
over the course of the NBA Playoffs, it truly takes a "team" effort
to WIN.
Instead of everyone individually posting their thoughts and
wagers in countless separate threads let's all help each other
in one common thread, of WINS.
The goal for all of us is to get paid, no one here
wants to lose their money, and each day in the NBA there are
Winners and losers. Someone wins, someone loses.

Let's be the Winners -- we can do it -- as a team.

The parameters need to be simple, logical, and to the point.

ONE WIN A DAY IS ALL IT TAKES TO BE SUCCESSFUL

The same as a debate team, the same as a jury, the same as any
profitable business -- the majority vote (pick) will be wagered.

The guidelines are as follows:
No parlays
No Over/Under
No Quarter, Half or In Game betting
No individual player props
No teasers
...you get the idea.

Let's keep it simple and go with (1) SU or ATS wager each day.

The rules:
1.Post ONE SU or ATS pick here in this thread clearly with the
date of the game and the team. Heat ML or Heat -7 as examples.
2. Support your pick with (at least) 75 words of insight/data to
support your pick, this is a must. A must, or your pick won't be
counted. We want to hear your logic, your data, your insight.

3. Submit at least 3 hours prior to the start of the game.
4. No bashing, no complaining, no funny stuff. Let's keep it clean.

The one wager per day will be selected (from the majority vote) at least 2 hours before game time each day.

Let's all consider it a fresh start, a clean slate, on the road to
finally making sense of all of the action we watch and ultimately
getting paid.

5/1 Boston Celtics +8.5
Doc rivers will not let this team quit, and the Boston players
consist of vets and proven winners in the league. Buy into it
or not they are also playing for the city of Boston (as a whole).
This team will give max effort win or lose and the Knicks are a
team that they can beat as C.Anthony and Jr Smith can be limited
with the right defensive scheme. Playoffs are all about adjustments, look for Boston to have a good game plan and the vets (leaders) to step up in this game to at the very least keep it close and cover.

Thanks for the nice words, its nice to know someone values what you say and should be added motivation to do even better, now.
I have been waiting in the wings just watching the games and
waiting for the right spots to wager. It takes time and patience
to make money, and most importantly to make sense of the action.
I'm personally not wagering that pick its just my choice for the thread, to hopefully help someone out there, with insight.
My plan is go to Vegas Thursday this week and get the ball rolling from there to making some money. It will take a team effort from all of us. Thanks again for your comments.

I'm on the other side. Knicks -8.5 seems to be the play for me.

Last game, Boston had a fantastic start, couldn't ask for better:

  • Green/Pierce were shooting well.
  • Bass did a great job neutralising Carmelo, who was abysmal with his jumpers.
  • Knicks had uncharacteristic very high turnover rate.
  • Knicks shot 29% first half, and trailed by 19 by HT.
  • To top it all off no JR Smith. Who is pretty vital to their success this season.

Despite all of that, they almost won. Its a hard ask for Knicks to repeat that sloppy performance, JR's return alone makes me confident that they will cover.

[1-0] so far, nice win by the Boston Celtics today.

Post your pick here along with your insight.

I will be posting my game within the next 2 hours.

5/2 Brooklyn Nets +1.5
Right to the point, the Nets were up by 10+ late in the 4th Q.
in game 4 until the Nate Robinson explosion. Brooklyn has
the fire power to get it done at Chicago, look for the same
type of game 4 pace yet this time they seal the deal and bring
this series back home to Brooklyn for an exciting game 7.
One (or both) of this series and GS/Denver will go to game 7.

Not to be rude, but this is why parlays are not allowed in this thread.
The odds are not in your favor and we're here to make money,
not to throw darts at a dart board.

The entire Brooklyn team needs to have a complete solid game.
Deron Williams included. The key for this game is the teams have
seen each other so much they know what to expect, very few surprises and had that Nate Robinson explosion (24pt 4th Quarter) not happened, this series would be done and over. The Nets can and will compete, Chicago has over achieved due to strong coaching and heart yet if we know one thing to expect, its drama.
This series will go to Game 7.

both inconsistent team,1 team bothered by injuries but some how made it to playoffs with the help of decent coaching, another team expected to shock the league but could not deliver consistently behind its top 3 players. Quite tricky to anticipate, let's just pick the witts and experience over the available talent. Chi for me papi, they survived all season long, this game is very important to them.
