Trying to piece together how long he will be gone and HOW MUCH IT WILL HURT THE TEAM.
1) The good news- He played a whole half on the bad wheel. Leads me to believe he does not have a big tear.
2) More good news, the team was surprised by the diagnosis, makes me believe it was not a bad injury. If it was a huge tear, his physical exam would be worse.
3) He is a world class athlete and svelte, would be different if this was Perkins or Shaq.
4) They have one of the greatest point guards ever on the bench in Fisher. He may be long in the tooth but this cat will hit the big shot and not turn it over like Westbrook.
5) They get the Rockets in the first round, they really suck. The second round will be different with the Clip show, I do not think the Grizz can keep up with them (but I am always underestimating that team)
6) As a point of reference, Lakers forward Metta World Peace recently underwent surgery to repair a torn lateral meniscus in his left knee. He was initially expected to miss six weeks but returned in 12 days.
SI.com’s Chris Mannix reports that Westbrooks’s availability for the remainder of the playoffs will hinge on the strategy pursued during surgery, according to multiple sports medical experts. There are multiple possibilities, with recovery timelines that range from two-to-four weeks to multiple months. Mannix further reports that a source close to Westbrook and the Thunder “don’t know” how long Westbrook will be out and won’t until after the procedure.
7) I am looking on the low end for his return. It is only a guess but I think he will be back middle of the next series. The only question is can he get Fisher back off the court.
