Gotta make it fast since tip is in about a half hour.
The game of interest? Knicks @ Warriors. The line is -2.5 Golden State.
Why is this a game of interest? Because when I first saw the line last night, I thought Carmelo was out and thought it was reasonable.
What did I find out later? Carmelo is a go and the line is still -2.5. Why? Well first, it screams to the squares that if the Meloless Knicks can take out quality teams like the Jazz, surely they can do so with him back.
But there was a key statement made to the media today by Melo himself which not only affects how he might play this game, but more importantly the rest of the year.
He said, "I don't think I'll ever be 100%..."
Players with the pride of Melo NEVER give other team's players a mental edge to overtake him, or excuse upcoming below average play, which exactly what this statement is saying. It has to be serious and there are bells and whistles all over the place this lingering knee soreness is serious.
So in effect, as this article says, Melo is back on the court but it's not the Melo you need to cover this game.

He says there is still soreness in the knee and doesn't think the fluid in the knee is completely gone. Translation: "The knee hurt enough to make a point of it and there's fluid there so if I look labored tonight, you know why."
And who is he up against with a sore knee that kept him out three games?
One of the WORST possible run and gun teams out West, who turn the court into a treadmill after the Knicks fly cross country to start a brutal West Coast trip.
Better yet for Golden State? Ex-Knick David Lee is back and he always loves to go full throttle against his old team.
Bottom line: Carmelo is here but he's not making your number one offensive option JR SMITH

since Amare is out as well. Not good....
But you say, "They were competitive against the Thunder and beat the Jazz without him!"
The Thunder slept-walked through that game. I watched it. When they needed to win they hit the shots they had to. The Jazz was on a B2B after a tough loss the night before.
Remember, Curry dropped 54 points on this team in their house no matter what defensive set they ran or who they put on him.
Now the Warriors are at home after Curry's career night in the Garden looking for revenge.
The Warriors are on a two game losing streak but the two losses came against a quality Houston team and then on a Back2Back to a rested Bucks team. Two reasonable losses and two they will like to Mark Jackson would like to make up for tonight against his ex (lots of ex's huh?)
Now the Warriors are rested and back at full strength with Lee. Look for them to run them off the court tonight and cover the 2.5 the bookies are begging you to take the Knicks with.
The Pick:
WARRIORS -2.5 OVER KNICKS
P.S. Tonight is BOLLYWOOD night Golden State. So whatever the hell that will do to help the Warriors, so be it!
