and there it is....A game that had no business of going over, does.....58 free throws on a blow out game.  Please check out the game log when you get a chance.....

But Narco, I thought your angle in capping the totals was based on ref behavior/"betting"?  So shouldn't you have anticipated that this game would go over?

C'mon now.  Don't be like the whiners who cry foul when their bet loses.  No better than the trolls who gloat when you lose.

My angle is trying to PREDICT ref behavior. How would I know what they bet on?

If I'm looking at the refs, I'm going to predict that this is likely to go OVER.  Why the outrage about the refs?  They told you what was likely to happen based on their past history.  Of course there's more to the game but this is looking at the ref angle.

I get what your trying to get at Narco-
Your on the right track but You've got it all wrong... It's the league owners/Association and Bookmakers that decide on this game to go Over.
It's the bigger guys that pay these refs their paychecks that decide if a game is going stay Under or go Over.  
It all comes down to money... If too much is on Under... Believe me "Vegas" will get their money and in return will tell the Association who then tells refs (who work for them) to get this game to go Over. 
Refs get paid $75k-225k depending on seniority. 
Money makes the world go around.

So it's Not what the Refs are betting...
It's what they're bosses are telling them to do to achieve their goal.. Whether that's Under or Over.
And their bosses are getting a big chunk of cash from what we know and call as Vegas. 

That's why u see these games so Fixed and unbelievable..
Like a 20 pt blowout and refs are still calling every foul desperately stopping the clock and trying to get more points on the board when in plain view it's not necessary in a blowout game. But there's money on the games in every aspect from Team Totals, to Over 2H to Under 4Q to even player props.  It's just all entertainment in disguise for behind the curtains Multi-Billion dollar industry: 'sportsbetting'

It's not even just the amount of free throws, it's the BS calls they are blowing the whistle on. Why do ref's feel the need to call a super tight game when the more superior squad has already flexed their "will"? It should be the opposing teams resiliency that gets them back in the game, not the referee's whistle. This is just another game in a line of blowout games that somehow go over. By the way, no money on this game, just watched it for homework purposes

Here's the part I don't get. If refs are truly crooked, wouldn't every ref's o/u record be .500 or something close?  Why would they want to create the appearance of something unusual?

Its not as if the Blaers were scorching either, they shot 49% and were 7-20 from 3.

Refs don't have to bet. The NBA who works along side the books will cut them the check. While some refs may bet here and there Id bet the majority of them don't. Would you risk a 100,000 or 200,000 dollar job if you had a family to feed after what happened to Donaghy? I wouldn't.

Today's winners are tomorrows losers. What I lost today, you will lose tomorrow. The corruption in NBA has to stop. There has to be a stop to this madness. 58 free throws is a spectacular number. Any bball player or coach will agree. It doesn't matter if you won tonight. It doesn't matter if I win tomorrow. All it matters is that NBA become a clean sport, unlike European soccer. It's disgraceful. Every ref has an agenda. I would hope that Donaghy gave names and that Feds are watching them as we speak.

I don't think a majority bet either. But I think they work for someone who has a lot of power and instructs them to "call" a certain game a certain way.
