I don't have stats to back this up but after keeping a close eye on this trend last year, I feel betting the under in 2nd qtr's can be a profitable play. Im sure anyone thats ever bet a 1H over has seen 50+ points in the 1st only to lose on a 40 or below 2nd many times.
There are a few factors that I see why this happens, first and foremost is that starters are normally on the bench til around the 8-6 minute mark of the 2nd. Nba has always been a top heavy league compared to other sports, 4 or 5 teams have a legit shot at winning it year in and year out, who actually has a good bench in the rest of the league? Will have to look more closely to see which teams have an actual legit backup PG to run some semblance of an offense.
Another factor I see is even when the starters do re-enter the game, its still the 2nd quarter and not the 4th where the game is ultimately decided. Guys are trying to get their stats, lineups that dont normally get alot of time together (starters and bench) can be put out there deep into the 2nd and foul trouble can all influence the scoring in the quarter.
So Im making this thread to keep track of the record of the games I do decide to play, discussion of the night's games and if anyone else has any strong leans or plays themselves. I played my 1st 2Q under bet ever last night (not posted) in the La/Dal game 46.5 so hoping to contribute some winning plays. Will be back later after looking more closely at the games.

thats so true, i cant count how many times i needed a last second free throw for an over when i had a 50 57 point first qtr and thought it was in the bag.sometimes is can be worse because of starter foul trouble gl bro keep me posted

I'll be watching. I've noticed this too. Teams seem to fly out of the gate and then the second quarter they can't hit shit. It just happened in this raptors game.

I was watchin that too as well Juve even though I didn't take it. Actually was worried that the den/philly game would go over 2Q since 1Q ended below pace a bit, I would rather see the teams come out flying like in said tor/atl game.

Hey great idea Currensy! After thinking about it, I really like your point of view, and I was just wondering if you watched the first quarter, and then bet it live, or if you feel a game is going to go under in general and hit the U2Q before the game starts. Thanks buddy, and Best Of Luck to you and this "system."
