If Howard wants to give up $20 million or whatever it is and go elsewhere... then so be it. |

#10 Posted: 8/9/2012 11:06:53 PM Forget the long run....it's not a lock in the short run
We have seen this movie before
pg payton
sg bryant
sf...?? who was it ??
pf Karl Malone
C shaq
they did not win a title
although D12 is nowhere near the end of his career...and is a stud....I feel Nash is @ end of his career....and kobe as good as he is....makes the LA backcourt age > 70 years old.
I still think OKC is ahead of LA....and Spurs (chemistry + shooters) are better too.
LA did not get quicker or younger ....yes with D12....heck no with the other new pieces. |

LA did not get quicker or younger ....yes with D12....heck no with the other new pieces. I'm worried about this too, but comparing that laker conglomeration to this one is comparing apples to oranges. Payton and Malone had nothing left in the tank...in fact that was Malones last year. Kobe and Nash still are effective and have a few more good years ahead of them. Add in a dynamic like Howard to go with Nash and another big in Gasol...this team is dangerous.

#15 Posted: 8/9/2012 11:49:41 PM That;s right....George.
He was effective "off and on" that year. But mostly effective.....Phil liked him.

#17 Posted: 8/10/2012 12:00:16 AM Howard doesn't want to be in L.A though... I hope if he gets dealt there that he only stays for a year.

#19 Posted: 8/10/2012 2:49:36 AM nobody cares....teams that win championships this way are a joke....talk about asterisks for steroids and baseball...put asterisks for teams roiding up their rosters with uneven trades for douchebag superstars..and nash is no better now in my opinion...
i hope karma sets in for these douches instead of them trying to win rings the easy way....nba players are getting more happy by the minute |

#20 Posted: 8/10/2012 4:14:37 AM Don't worry, Stern will veto this trade again. Stern knows, that the Lakers with Howard are a big wall in front of his Loverboy Bron to get another ring.Stern will do all in his power, that Queen James gets another ring and again in an easy way. If Howard would go to the Heat, Stern would be the first to congratulate the Heat. |

I wrote my short term post before I heard they didn't have to give up Gasol. Now I'm floored. I can't believe this can get approved. Orlando gets raped in this deal. The Lakers turn into a monster. I was mainly talking about Kobe with my short term comment. Guy's great but only a blind fan can't see he's almost done and Nash at almost 40 is your other back court person? Good luck stopping other point guards again. Howard it going to get a shot the set a blocked shot record. With the front line of Howard and Gasol, and I think Howard will re-sign, I think they'll be good for awhile longer but I really think they have to win now if Kobe's going to get anymore titles. And Chemistry with Nash and Howard can't take too long to occur. Don't think this puts them past OKC but it'll at least be interesting for a couple of years. |
