#1 Posted: 5/22/2012 1:02:46 AM and no, he won't exceed it either.
he'll be 34 in three mos. that's a lot of mileage with 16 years in the league and 7 deep playoff runs (5 rings and 2 runner ups).
he's in phenomenal shape but mother nature will make him lose a quarter step in the next year and then the downhill drop will be pretty quick every year thereafter
they need to make wholesale changes in personnel and it means giving up a guy like Gasol
Odom, the lengthy 6th man helped them a lot, they really missed him
by the time they get all the pieces, Kobe will be 36 or 37, maybe older
Phil Jackson nor Pat Riley are walkin' through the door
and Dwight Howard is not coming
Kobe's window is closing very quickly, and maybe too far closed to re-open
MICHAEL JORDAN FOREVER

you must live really far from LA to not know that:
KOBE IS OBSESSED WITH WINNING HIS SIXTH RING AND TYING MICHAEL
HE GETS COMPARED TO MICHAEL MORE THAN ANYONE IN THE LAST 20 YEARS
HE'S AMAZING, BUT HE'S NO MICHAEL
IT WILL KILL HIM TO NOT GET HIS SIXTH RING
TRUST ME

yes, orlando canned van gundy and asked otis smith to leave as well to appease dwight, but it probably won't be enough to keep him there.
he seems like he needs a change of scenery.
brooklyn or dallas is my bet

#13 Posted: 5/22/2012 1:38:09 AM even if Kobe does surpass or ties jordans 6 rings its still not enough for kobe to be mention to be higher then MJ it would take kobe 8 tries to win 6 imagine if MJ had 2 more tries for a ring. Dare I say 8 rings?

We've been hearing Kobe is on the decline for the past 3 years... ok keep saying it.. eventually someone will be right about it.
Saying this after dropping 42 points
Not too mention this series was way closer than 4-1

#15 Posted: 5/22/2012 2:32:47 AM Bynum has to go, Kobe looked really washed up tonite 42 pts bynum and gasol are the ones that are washed up. Mike brown is not a good coach, he didnt develop the bench and he doesnt make in game adjustments. Hopefully Mitch kupchak can get something quality back 4 Bynum and Gasol. The lakers need to get faster and more athletic to compete with okc or Sa. They are 2 slow in rotations defensively and the lakers cant guard the pk and roll |

lol didnt see much passion, I guess you didn't see kobe try to feed pau but pau just had some trouble making his shot otherwise kobe would have a couple assists.
and basketball is a team game obviously no one can beat a good team on his own even jordan had help

#21 Posted: 5/22/2012 11:59:21 AM Kobe wins 6th, but it won't be with the Lakers. So, its his choice... stay with the Lakers and stuck at 5 or force a trade to a younger contending team.

NO, it's because his father was murdered and he became mentally and emotionally lost, he needed a change as he was suffering with sorrow inside, and needed a new challenge away from the NBA (he had just won 3 rings) to take all of his pent up anger and sadness and channel it somewhere else.
anyone who has followed jordan's career knows that he was super, super close to his dad, and when his dad was murdered it sent MJ into a downward spiral that it took him close to two years to get out of |
