When is everyone going to learn....LBJ is not the "shooter"

he is not the closer...but he is the best player in the NBA

Define best player.....I believe the best players and/or dominat players can control or impact the game in multiple categories.

The key categories are

1) points....this is the one that everyone gives too much weight to, but there are other areas to impact the game other than pts scored

2) assists

3) rebounds

4)  leadership

5)  tempo (control the flow of the game)

For years...plural years....LBJ has led the league in pts, rebs and assts.....

We all know he plays point forward....controls tempo....and has the ball in his hand leading and facilitating offense for Cavs and now Miami

Top that off with he is setting a NBA record for regular season efficiency....right now @ 32.4 PER...noone...not Bird, Magic, MJ....not Kobe, Shaq, Barkley...not the Mailman, not Nash, not Olajuwon....Robinson or Duncan.....no MVP ...no NBA legend...has ever had a PER over 32 during a season.

If LBJ keeps his rountine pace of 28 ppg 8 rebs 7 assts during the minutes played...he will break that Wilt Chamberlain record.

He sets that record and KD is the best player --- why?  b/c he leads the nba in scoring?  I say no...it is easily LBJ for the reasons I wrote and actually more

yes, LBJ is a better leader than KD.

I did not say clutch....I did not say pure shooter...or better shooter (even though LBJ does shoot a higher %...LBJ 55%...KD 51%]

KD does do some things better than LBJ....but LBJ does more things better than KD.

In what way....media has coined the subjective finisher tag....that before 2003 (when LBJ came into the league...) never was talked about before now.

My theory is they did this for the very reason that you typed.....LBJ when it is all said and done...will have Hank Aaron type numbers across the board.

More career pts than Kobe and MJ for sure...and probably pass Kareeem

More career assists than Magic and Mark Jackson and probably finish in top 3 for sure (KD and Kobe no where on this list)

Top career rebounder @ small forward in NBA History

Top shot blocker in SF (or at worst top 3) in nba history....had the phrase chase down block coined after his always awesome , athletic and perfectly timed chase down blocks

Leads the NBA in efficiency (PER) again this season

Also has the best PER this season of all time....if he stays above 31.8....he is at 32.4...noone....not Bird, Magic, Malone....not MJ, not Kobe, Not shaq.....not havilichek, not barkely, not chamberlain nor J West.....and no not even KD35......has put up that kind of hostoric PER (which measures a players ability across all categories).....and what does the fans and media say trump that.......did he hit a buzzer beater...and did he close..

Also, LBJ has won more player of the week and month awards than any player in NBA history and he is only in year 9.

All that, and KD35 is better becuase he is a "supposedly" better shooter.....LBJ shoots 55%...KD shoots 51%

The media has smeared LBJ for years....but in about 3 to 4 years these SIK numbers that LBJ is putting up will not be able to be hidden by them or ignored and disregarded by the fans.
