The total is at 192.5
New York is actually playing some respectable defense with Chandler manning the lane. They are giving up a solid 93.6 ppg. They are the 7th best team team in terms of defensive efficiency.
Memphis is without Randolph and playing with a newly added Speights. They have not played with much offensive effectiveness and are actually the 4th worst team in terms of offensive efficiency.
I like the defensive minded Tony Allen to shut down
Fields and possibly Douglas(if they match up tonight, which may not happen depending on the personnel on the floor). I also don't think either Shumpert or Conley will have a significant edge on each other; neither is much of an explosive scorer. Chandler and Gasol should be a nice matchup.
I just don't see where a lot of points will come from tonight. Both teams are in the bottom half of the league in FG % and 3 pt %. Memphis is actually dead last in 3 pt. shooting. Both teams fall off significantly after their initial go to scoring options. The benches are adequate but not full of dynamic scorers. The bulk of scoring will likely fall on Melo, Amare, Gay and Gasol.
With the Knicks improved defense, the absence of Randolph and lack of multiple scoring options, I foresee a lower scoring affair tonight.
