I never thought I’d feel sorry for Chicago Bulls fans.
In the 90’s, the Chicago Bulls had it all. I, like most of you, cheered
on Michael Jordan during his quest to solidify his legacy as the best
ever. I only have faint memories of the early three-peat since I was far
too young to remember things clearly. I'll never forget the jump shot
over Byron Russell to clinch the 6th NBA Championship in eight years for
the Bulls.
I used to sing, "Be Like Mike"---the Gatorade anthem. I adored these guys.
The Bulls slayed Magic, Clyde, Barkley, Kemp, Malone and Stockton. However, in all of their success, a curse was brewing.
Jerry Krause, Chicago Bulls General Manager at that time, had a budding
feud with Phil Jackson that ultimately ended the Chicago Bulls reign at
the top of the NBA. It was reported in Playing for Keeps that Krause
specifically told Jackson, "I don't care if it's 82-and-0 this year,
you're fucking gone.”
With Jackson’s departure imminent, the Bulls knew they’d also lose Jordan. Jerry Krause didn’t flinch.
The Curse of Krause was born.
When Jordan’s Bulls were destroyed by management in 1998, I was so
devastated that I made an art project dedicated to the Curse of Krause.
It was the Chicago Bulls logo with “CURSED” written over the top of it.
Well, it actually said “MALDITO” because I was in Spanish immersion, but
you get the point.
You’re probably rolling your eyes right now, especially if you’re a Bulls fan.
Dig a little deeper though, and you’ll feel the impact of the Krause Curse.
-The Chicago Bulls failed to acquire Dwyane Wade or LeBron James during
the 2010 Superstar Sweepstakes. Instead, they ended up with Carlos
Boozer.
-"You can't have midgets running your backcourt.” Scottie Pippen’s
assessment of the Chicago Bulls with Kirk Hinrich and Ben Gordon in
2008. Humor me: Kirk Hinrich 6’4”, Ben Gordon 6’4”, and Derrick Rose
6’3”. Hmmm.
-Derrick Rose is a choke artist. SEE: Derrick Rose can’t make a clutch
free throw during Memphis’ collapse to Kansas in 2008 NCAA Final. Also
related: They seriously blew a 9-point lead in 2 minutes? Also related:
You’ve got to be kidding me, seriously, a 9-point lead in 2 minutes?
-Joakim Noah’s hair.
I could go on and on.
So, before you get too excited for the Chicago Bulls blowout win over the Miami Heat as the Series clincher, please brace yourself for the Krause Curse.
The Miami Heat typically struggle on 3+ days of rest, right?
Eastern Conference Game 2 Pick: Miami Heat ML
Eastern Conference Series Pick: Miami Heat (EVEN)
2011 NBA Playoffs Prediction: The Chicago Bulls have no shot at being crowned champs this year.

Pretty interesting comments after a complete blowout...
Funny you brought up the "midget" comments when the Heat were DESTROYED on boards. Also, that was 2008. Derek a freshman in college...
If your biggest play of the season was the Heat series before game 1, what is it now??
Girl, did you take a look at the scoreboard at the end of the game??
I've seen SO many people say that the regular season wins over the Heat were pretty close, but NOW losing by 21 has the same outcome as as 1??? O.k. which is it??
No offense to you at all, and I'm not including you in most of this, but I hope game 2 will slow down some of these people's B.S. threads. I will be watching the Bulls win AGAIN from half court 10th row on Wed...
BTW- what does Joakim's hair have to do with ANYTHING??!

Yeah- the 9 pt. lead was completely FRESHMAN Derek Rose's fault. And because he went 1-1 from the line he's a choke artist?
He has an AWESOME ft record. Everything you wrote has everything to do with the past and NOTHING to do with the present or future... except Joakim's hair which is an AMAZING insight.

It's a bit of a tongue in cheek blog.
I got exactly what I wanted: a Bulls win in Game 1, to bring down the Series prices. It's my biggest wager of the 2011 Playoffs---I haven't bet the 2011 Playoffs particularly large, so don't jump off a cliff over that comment. It's not a Glock_II $35,000 wager, if that's what you're thinking.
OK, OK.
I'm gone for the night. Be back to respond to others tomorrow.
Have some fun with this blog. It's meant to lighten up the mood, people. Geez us.

There's so much shit being written about MY Bulls that I do have a tendency to take it personally at times... If your intentions were to lighten up the situation I apologize. I'm just sick of the Bulls not getting respect when I feel it is obviously due.

Nothing personal but I think u make all the female sports bettor looks bad for mention the " curse " thing in here.
It's fine if u like LBJ or DW to bounce back after the performance in gm 1. But u pick the heat bcos u think there's a curse on the bulls??? Wow...........my mom actually likes the heat as well bcos she told me she likes the team logo better
Being a female sports bettor, I really hope to see u represent " us " being a respectable capper base on anything other than the curse or the looks of Derek Jeter.
BOL to u tomorrow Sarah

funny thing is...whether you are a man or a woman does it really matter how you break a game down? For example: maybe a non-sports following women makes picks based on team names or logos...while a man breaks down trends, stats, and players...all the "information" and "research" done still doesn't erase the fact a women's pick based on the fact she likes a team logo may still win....it's called gambling for a reason

instead of posting idiotic b.s. like this admit that you were totally wrong about the bulls (7th worst team in the playoffs???) and now you are talking all this nonsense because miami lost.
You got exactly what you wanted? Only a naive fool looks at that game and gets excited to wager on Miami. The Heat and your stupidity get further exposed in this series....
