Penny Hardaway wanting to join the Miami Heat

I saw the video of Penny Hardaway stating this. With the limited money Miami will have to spend on players over the next 5-6 years (potentially many more years after that too ) these old guys have to be thinking hey why not ride the coattails. Wade and Haslem are the only players on the roster that have rings. These old vets want to make their pitch to Pat Riley saying they are that locker room presence. They are that 5.6ppg consistant role player needed to rest the superstar between quarters for extended real-time minutes. Penny is 39-years old. I don't care if you work out 4 days a week dude, these guys are going to be coming at you full speed and they're half your age. I really hope he has some sort of lucrative investment because when I was a kid this guy was on TV with Lil Penny singing along and doing all sorts of endorsements. To see him wanting to come back so adamately would lead me to believe he ran through all that cash a long time ago.

Also, the players coming would have to accept minimum money. Thats the biggest point and attraction or washed up old men. Haslem resigning was HUGE!!! It makes their future wager have an actual chance. All they're missing is a PG and a solid frontcourt combination and they're set to make a decent run until they play the Celtics.

exactly what cheeze said, Penny at his age wont be able to keep up with these young players in the nba now, what position will penny play? too slow to play any of hte guard postions, and can he keep up with the athletic and/or big sf/pfs?

He has been retired and tried a comeback already... i doubt the Heat let him play..

If any of the retired players could come back, i would say Reggie Miller whos game (3 pt shooting) could still work even though he has been out of the game for 3/4 years now?
