Miami will be a contender, even with the rest of the team not being signed yet. They need some stand still shooters and maybe 3 bigs. They don't really have to be good, but just clog the middle. Miami should be able to get out of the east, but the Lakers are a team that will give them some big problems, and I mean BIG down low.
Now for Lebron signing, it wasn't that big of a deal as rumors were starting years ago that the 3 wanted to team up. He made the best decision that he could have. Also, remember, he will be only 30 when his contract ends and he will have a chance to shine by himself. But only then, he will already have some rings to go with it. We live in an individual country where we do things to progress our owns self. Now with other countries, they are more about society and others.
So why the backlash this harsh is beyond comprehension, as we expect these things from people. Even the president does things to fullfil themself even though they are obligated to represent the best for the people. So in the end, the USA is a hypocrite in itself.
Can't wait to watch the Miami circus come to town.

Dont forget they drafted a NCAA career block champion .
Varnado, who holds the NCAA blocks record, could very well be catching alley-oop passes from James this winter if the second-round draft pick can make the Heat’s roster. The good news is that because Dwyane Wade, Chris Bosh and James are all on the same team (and very expensive), the Heat will need to surround them with cheap, young talent to stay under the salary cap. And it doesn’t get much cheaper than Varnado.

Orlando wins the East next year. Who on the heat is going to slow down Howard?
It's called foul-trouble.
However while I like this post and agree with 90% of it. I think it will take until Year 2 of this duo when they can sign better players to support them to win the East and the ring. Their bench is a HUGE liability towards them winning as this stands today. I wasn't impressed much with their D-league squad except Kenny Hasbrouck (Siena)

I disagree. All good teams shorten their rotation during the playoffs.
IMO the Lakers play their starting 5 and Odum;
Then they decide who will get more minutes Farmar or Brown
Now that Farmar is gone they will decide between Blake and Brown
But to me, the Lakers are not deep......they primarily play 6.5 guys and thats all it takes.
Particularly for the Heat when their team already has three all stars on the roster.

I think Varnado will eventually be signed at the minimum. He didn't look that great in his first performance - but I'll give him a few more games to show me that it was just nerves that got him to foul out last game.
He was very impressive in college, but how his game translates to the NBA is a different story we all need to watch and see.
On the other hand, Dexter Pittman looks to be their big bang-up guy they can rotate in with Joel Anthony (or whoever is playing Center).

Also you got to consider that the Southeast division (Orlando, ATL, Charlotte, Washington, MIA) may become one of the toughest divisions to play in next year. With the exception of Washington (and they should be better this year) they were all playoff teams that posted a winning record in-conference.
Either way - It's going to be an exciting year!
