5 Team Parlay - Thoughts?

This is my first ever started topic and really, I'm looking for some insight to make back some bank I lost earlier on the Lakers and Nuggets, such idiot teams I have no betting faith in anymore, you live you learn.

Cavs @ 1.02

I took the Cavs on the ML simply cause the Pacers are outmatched in every area. I don't care how much of a fight they are willing to put up, but with that said I can't ignore the points so I took ML to be safe.

Mavs @ 1.05

Once again, the Bulls lineup may look like a joke, but as we saw they can put up a fight. But I'm not a fan of Memphis, one of the few teams I don't feel have a "system" their style of bball looks so broken. Either way, Mavs with Kidd at point, Butler, and Dirk, well this game doesn't get lost, they win this easy.

Hawks @ 2.36

Now this one confuses me. I like my Raptors, I'm from Toronto. But here in Raptor camp it is ugly. Triano does not have a lineup, everyday it is some crazy rotation of who to play, Today Calderon is starting now for Jack, why? I don't get it. Despite Bosh's efforts, it'll go to waste. Atlanta is an automatic win, but with JJ out it should not mean this line jumps to 2.36. I am very nervous on this one and might want to take points.

OKC Thunder - 1.5 @ 1.91

Another one I'm unsure about, maybe I should not play it but both teams are fighting hard for playoff position. Charlotte had a terrible loss the other day, and with Wallace out maybe it is showing. OKC is like Memphis, no proper style of play, but damn you can't ignore the numbers that get put up. Even though they are on the road, I feel OKC can hold out the Cats, no "real" reasoning, some things you can't formulate, and this win at -1.5 seems like a safe bet to me.

Bucks @ 1.47

This one is interesting because the past head to head matchups shows this as an even bout. However, the Clips are reeling and the Bucks have showed people they are no joke. Going into Boston with that win I think shut critics up. Bottom line, Jennings is rookie of the year, and not Tyreke Evans, why you ask? Evans yes has better numbers, but who were the Bucks with Gold Medal Michael Redd running the point? Nobody. Essentially this is the same Bucks with Jennings and by God has it allowed Bogut to bloom, and the rest of the cast is coming along for the ride, Stackhouse on the bench, damn they are the real deal.

I bet $30 I win $213. It is risky, but sometimes you just gotta go for it. Thoughts?

I too am from Toronto and agree the Raps are a MESS!! Now starting Calderone over Jack will only piss off Bosh and make it even MORE likely he will leave in the summer.  Im all over the Hawks! points and ML.

The mavs game i really like over the total....but there is NO way the mavs are gonna lose after the embarassment of the knicks loss.

cleveland gets it done too, and i like the bucks pick.

im not sure of the okc game....the bobcats at home are tough

Thanks mate. I'm glad someone else can feel my pain with the Raptors. Our run around all-star time was only due to facing weak teams, I'm not sure why nobody realizes that. The win against the Lakers really put some people in a fantasy world, I simply said, just wait until our next 6 opponents, we'll be fighting to make the playoffs, ugh. I'm just on the fence to as why Hawks are not favoured here, who knows maybe it's cause we are great at home, but we've lost last 3 of 4 at home...

I agree we are a great home team....but we in total shambles right now and coming home off a long road trip, I find teams do not usually play great first game back.  Hawks on road and scored 108pts last night!  I actually like the game to go OVER the total as well.  Had the Lakers over last night and 21 missed free throws killed that.  Atlanta is just too talented.  I thought they would actually be favoured too.

From T.O as well and just wanted to drop a thought.  I think the books are thinking that after that long crappy road trip the Raps are gonna come out gunning tonight.  Plus the 2 games on the road that they played against quality teams (being lakes and Port) they actually played half decent.  So seeing that this is a decent team and the raps are back at home where they have been strong thats why the line is like that.  Having said that, the raps are playing awful since Bosh went down, you are right they are pissing him off by benching Jack.  and I am really sad to say but I don't think he will be back next year

thread.im with you on the bucs and the cavs.i never bet on the leafs or the raptors as it never works out for me.whatever one im on the opposite happens.as for atl they are a huge fade team for me.doesnt matter what i bet on the hawks i always lose so i just away from them.

You're are right with that. Is the cost of my Raptors having some grit in their fight tonight worth my payout. I secretly root for them, as I do every year but I never expect much. Perhaps I'll stay away from this one, I'd like to see Raptors land get into the playoffs (even though we'll be bounced out of the first round).  My only beef with the two decent games we played, we can't forget the Lakers did not play until the 4th quarter which was a joke. I mean we really had to rely on  Chris Bosh 3 pointer, and Hedo had the turnover in the paint when we had that huge momentum swing. I'll digress, I'm getting all started up with the thought of these losses. Final thought, unless we make it to the Conference Finals, Bosh is gone 100%, if he is as nice as he seems, he'll do a sign and trade deal.

Thanks mate, loving the Toronto vibe I'm getting here. I'm assuming we all got brought on the thescore. Either way, I'm not one to bet against Toronto teams, I bleed blue and purple. Truthfully in the end I'd feel so ashamed for doing it, I'll stay away myself, but I must say I'm extremely intrigued by the line, can't wait to see how it all plays out.

This is why i only play totals on Raps games!  That way I can cheer for them to win.  They can score a lot of points, especially at home and they usually dont play great D (although they have been better).  What do you all think about the over here?

Ya Sherman, a bit late on the response but I would have taken the over. Everything you said was right. Raps have ALWAYS hit the over for me. It's the only play in totals I like, everything is a fail.
