515 Dallas Mavericks +4.5 at New Orleans Heat

 

False favorite. Bettors are remembering a former version of the Hornets and reading too much into Dallas comeback last night. That should not have been surprising at all as I said the Jazz were weak off the bench, playing a B2B, and would not have the stamina for the whole game. Now bettors are looking at the Mavericks as the team with a B2B on the road and are looking for the same results. When I said in the Hornets-Knicks analysis that the Hornets should probably not often lay points and never on the road, I meant it. They are not on the road tonight of course, but still should not be laying points to a far superior team. The Mavericks on the road will not look anything like the Jazz did last night an should win outright, but my margin does not allow for a moneyline play. GL, Key

What a hell of a 4th 1/4 yesterday for Dallas,which sort of proved my point that something is off in Utah,you dont blow a 16 point lead with 8 mins left if everything is good on the team.

Did you play the under in Atl.?

I took Atl and the under as I needed to make up for the football loss,Under 58,score 30-29,lol also took Buff.in sec half as they looked like the better team,but they sucked in sec.half and lost outright which made me happy except it put it over 58.

Both teams gave the other team free TDs with TO on their own 1 yard line or its an easy under.

i still may play the lakers simply because they are 0-fer ats this season and have lost with them in doing so, so now im trying to recoup some money, which generally isnt a good thing to do is chase an underperforming team but hopefully tonite wont taste so bad....i simply think that the lakers NEED Gasol back and will continue to be over-valued until they do so and make bank for the books, like the writeups though and appreciate ur input

Also not to sure about the Lakers either,Gasol being out hurts and Artest is a great D player,but his scoring is not what it was and I didnt really think it was a good fit,but will probally get better when Gasol comes back to score,they have no inside scoring at end of game,relying on jump shots to try to win before OT,which ruined my OKC+7 and under parley.

Artest did shut down Durant at end of game and OT so they could win,but not a game that impressed me at all.

Key you dont like Det getting 8 points tonight?

Tor.sure doesnt look very good,but for some reason your #s dont match or you would play it,just curious as it seems like a good play,esp after beating Orl.without the 2 guys injured.I know Howard went out but not when so not sure how much that changed the game.

There is no weakness on the part of the Lakers that causes them to play close games and even lose one so far. The Lakers are just so confident of being able to turn it on at will and win the Western Conference going away that they are already on cruise control and won’t use 100% of their skill or energy unless they really need it. That is what we have going for us tonight. Mentally the Lakers will prep and play better versus good competition than weak. I would remind fans of their trip to the East year when they beat both the Celtics and Cavaliers on the road in the same trip. The Lakers like to be challenged and do not sleepwalk their way through those games. The public likes the Rockets tonight thanks to their recent run without Yao Ming (McGrady is irrelevant) but the Lakers are just as aware of the Rockets success as anyone else and tonight they will turn it up, turn it on, and win going away.

 


 

 

I agree with the premise of your pick but the public is definetely still all over the Lakeshow.

I don't see the lakers being up for this game.  They just had an overtime game against an up and coming, high energy, Thunder squad last night.  It seriously looked like it was the Thunder's game of the year. Now they come into Houston who has no Yao, has no Mccgrady and no matter that they are playing well I seriously doubt anybody (including the Lakers) thinks this squad is going to seriously challenge the Lakers in the West.  I can see the Rockets coming out with high energy tonight and if shots aren't falling early for the Lakers, I can see them going into the same sleepwalking mode they got in last year in the playoffs with essentially this same Houston team.  And that was the playoffs.
