Lamar Odom and Trevor Ariza are free agents and both performed very well in the playoffs. If the Lakers can only sign 1 of them, then who should they sign? or if possible, can they actually resign both of them?

Agree...Ariza. He can do it all. Odom, on the other hand, does have those games where he actually takes the spotlight over Kobe, but thats about 3 times a season. Ariza is young and it's worth it to keep him over the long haul.

As a big fan of course you would like to see both stay and keep the team intact. A bigger question at hand may be will Phil
Jackson return? Odom brings great experience and talent on both sides of the ball. He is a big third option and the huge reason why they won this year. He does not have youth on his side like Ariza. I think the signing of Ariza is more like a long term plan but, if you want to be in it and play for the championship again next year you must sign Odom.
I say Odom and this is based on Phils return.

Easily Ariza. But if Odom can be signed for $6-$7 mil a year, I'd keep him too. If the Lakers lose Odom, you can guarantee a better replacement is coming. Its the Lakers for god's sake.

For the person taht said Phil, I really dont' think Phil would make that big of a difference for this team. Guys know the system in and out, and Kobe is like the coach on the floor and even in the huddles. As long as a new coach doesn't ocme in and change everything, I think they'll be fine without Phil

I like what Ariza has brought to the team this year,but as bad as I bashed on himLamar is probably the one they have to keep..to have that type of production off the bench is so key for a team to be successful and he brings so many match up problems vs the other team

i think ariza is worth something like 5 mill, 6 mill, then 7 mill for a 3 year deal.
I'd give Odom the same.
people forget that Ariza was a TERRIBLE shooter before he came to LA. Especially the 3 ball. He has obviously improved but I would be careful of overreacting and overpaying him and getting stuck with some huge contract.

But at this point, if I were a GM, I wouldn't want to pay him more than 5 mill a year, pro-rated up to 8 mill for his last year.

Odom is making 14+ million right now. Just keep paying him and give Ariza a huge raise. Tell Fisher to take a cut or take a hike. Lakers can pay the tax anyways. Just keep everyone and pay a few extra million to win a title for the next 5 years.

They will re-sign both...it's a done deal, consider it done.
Odom has already said he will pay for less...Ariza loves being home in L.A. and being a member of the Lakers. Neither one of them wants to leave L.A. and they will both take less money than they could get elsewhere to stay.

Lakers gonna be good for the next 5 years. I see at least a couple more championships. These guys aren't going to go no where because they actually like playing in LA. The money is going to be there and loving where you play is just as important as the money.
