I had a very long write up just about ready to send and my laptop rebooted on its own!  Damn!

The oddsmakers (once again) have tipped us off on this play.  The line went from -3.5 at the open and quickly moved down to -2.5.  This is 2 full points off the closing line on Tuesday (-4.5).
 
Well the Magic won and pushed (most people had -4).  Why did the line drop?
 
Here is how I see it.
 
Lakers win game 4 in a tight one.
 
Magic down 3-1 will win game 5.
 
LA goes home to take the crown.
 
Game 4 is the time to get on LA.  Do you think the Magic will shoot 62% again?  Phil is too smart for that.

I think the line dropped because vegas realizes that the one team you really do not want to give points to is the Lakers

the most dangerous Underdog on the planet.

Hit my big play on the over and pushed on the Magic big play.  Thank you Kobe for the foul with 0.2 left!  And thank you Lewis for making both free throws.  Damn...all Orlando needed was 1 rebound during that last Laker posession - up 4, they would have been fouled and won by 5 or 6.
 
Big plays are now 7-2-1 in the NBA.

Another thing has caught my eye...the money line on a -2.5 favorite should be in the neighborhood of -160.  At one of my books I see the Magic ML @ -135.  Great value?...or Vegas trick?

Uh-oh...laptop reboot = bad omen.  But BOL; I'm on the Lakers too, however much of a square play it seems right now. The Lakers played well last time too, so I'll take them plus the points in Game 4.

PHIL JACKSON on homecourt advantage...

Phil Jackson sent this message to his team when he famously declared after the Game 4 no-show in Houston that "as long as we have homecourt advantage, we'll be alright."


Plus, LAKERS are 6-0 ATS in the playoffs when coming from a loss whether on the road or at home.

Changed my mind.  I think ORL is a good pick to win and cover. With the exception of Game 1, every game has been competitive so far, and Game 3 showed us why even superplayers like Kobe can be mortal at times when fatigue overcomes them.
