True. His finger went up through the rim and he touched the rim. Supposed to be automatic. The part that has me laughing, the announcers at first said nothing, then broke out the rule book to try and justify it. Imagine if it would have been reversed and the Lakers didn't get the call in that exact same situation....... (Howard got away with it earlier in the game) Van Gundy would've blown a gasket.

I don&#x27;t have a problem with that not deciding the game. Courtney Lee should have to give back part of his paycheck for not making that layup. Also not letting Turkglu off the hook for that awful pass. Courtney Lee has serious hops. That should have been an alley oop dunk.

I have the Magic for the series and wish it was goaltending, but heres the official definition;&#xD;&#xA;https://www.nba.com/analysis/rules_11.html&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Gasol never rattled the rim to cause the ball to take an unnatural bounce, so its not goaltending. As much as I would like to blame the refs, the loss was really on Courtney Lee. Blowing 2 open layups in the last 30 seconds is brutal, but I guess thats just being a rookie.&#xD;&#xA; &#xD;&#xA;Also, playing JJ over the guard who has led your team to the finals in OT, especially since JJ hasn&#x27;t been in a pressure situation in like 5 years, doesn;t make any sense to me.

that was a goaltending. however on the previous last play when kobe got blocked..HE GOT FOULED he got hit on the left arm while he was going up then he got blocked....the ref also missed that too. or else kobe would of went to the line for 2.

If they don&#x27;t call Lebron for traveling (which he does on every possession practically) 98% of the time but have the guts to call it with under 30 seconds left, then yes they can and SHOULD call that.&#xD;&#xA;Popo - while I agree with your JJ opinion, the goaltending rule is a judgement call and while my rooting interest is semi biased (Cavs fan), I really believe you can not do what Gasol did without it being goaltending. If the roles were reversed, and Howard did that to Derek Fisher, the Lakers get the call.

judgement call is a term use in the nba by the almigthy refs for deceit and conceal the actual events in a game or simply to conceal their idiocy.a game is dictated by circumtansces up to the last second base on the rule book and not by a moron with a zebra uniform or a syndicare zebramen.
