Tonight you’re
guaranteed of getting 1000% effort from a great home team in an elimination
situation.What more could you people
possibly ask for?The Blazers are going
to go out there and kill themselves and bring absolutely everything they have.If they want to live to fight another day
they have no other choice.I’m sure the
Rockets won’t exactly roll over, but it’s hard to match the energy and effort
of the team with they’re backs against the wall (who can ride the wave of the
home crowd) when you know you’ve got Game 6 back at home to seal the deal again if Game 5 doesn’t work out.
Although
the Blazers came up short in Game 4, they can carry many positives from that
loss into tonight. The second half of
that game was really the first time all series where the Blazers got aggressive
and really went at the Rockets.Portland started attacking off the dribble,
taking it to the basket and initiating contact to draw fouls. They're level of physicality picked up considerably. It was a far cry from most every other game
where they had consistently been way too passive and had settled for way too
many outside shots. I look for them to continue this increased level of toughness in tonight's game.
I’m seeing
a Herculean effort here from Portland in what is hopefully a wire-to-wire
blowout victory. And if they win Game 5,
don’t preclude the possibility of them pulling Game 6 in Houston out of the hat which would set up a
do or die Game 7 back in Portland.

i'm starting to change my inital lean, if i remember correctly when the blazers were beating houston last game in portland, houston got the cover by some miracle threes made by arron brooks, otherwise houston would have never seen the score as close as it seemed.
might be a no play.

I think some people might be scared to lay points here after we've just seen three consecutive nasty backdoor covers in this series. Don't let that affect your decision tonight though. If Portland comes out the way I think they will it shouldn't come down to free throws at the end to decide which team covers.

value, you think the spurs have any legs left to win tonight? i'm seeing one last big game for them before it's over in dallas.
good write-up.
I don't know placeholder, the Spurs are more beaten down then a stepchild right now. I ditched my series bet on them a long time ago and then came back with the Mavs.
The problem is so many things have to go right for San Antonio to win, let alone cover. If even the slightest thing goes wrong -- like Parker or Duncan not going crazy -- they're in a world of hurt. I doubt I'll bet against them tonight because until I see the Spurs dead I can never count them out, but the writing really is on the wall for San Antonio. I like making bets on teams when they look horrible and nobody believes in them, but at the same time you still have to be smart. I'm not really sure betting on the Spurs at this point (to cover this type of spread) is a smart thing to do.

The Blazers could have easily won Game 4. Ron Artest was absolutely murdering the Rockets. Some bad turnovers, bad possessions and bad calls ultimately did in Portland though. But they finally stepped up and brought the fight to Houston instead of sitting back and playing passively. Hopefully the Blazers continue playing that way tonight.

I believe portland also gained better point of view on how to play yao and the rest of the rockets, I believe with all the jitters are almost tamed and the crowd support should motivate them to play some of the best ball of the series. Now if only Oden doesn't foul out by the end of the 3rd quarter. I like this play a lot now Value, I think houston has to take it home to finish this series.

i still think the Rockets are the much better team, and i have a series bet on it, but if there was ever a time for Portland to win it would be tonight.
good luck V4R

VFR - - good write-up as usual. Been reading yours for a while. But, I gotta take HOU +5.5 or no play on this one. I see it being close. I have never seen Yao get up and down the dourt like he did last game. He was playing like a kid again to me. I most def. can't lay ML juice on the blaze. GL though bro!
