#1 Posted: 8/23/2012 11:09:44 AM I used this workout, and ran my first 5k race last December. It worked really well. I never liked running, and was very out of shape. but doing it helped me loose 20 pounds and I completed the 5k in 35 minutes.
I kept up running and ran 3 miles twice a week untill this summer started. Having my kids out of school and doing some traveling got me out of my routine, but it's time to get back to it, So I am starting this again, with a goal of finishing my next 5k in 30 min.
My wife will be doing this with me this time which will be interesting because she shattered her ankle 7 years ago, and had reconstructive surgery. Since then she has put on 40 lbs, so this will be tough for her, but I figure doing this together can only help.
