I used this workout, and ran my first 5k race last December.  It worked really well.  I never liked running, and was very out of shape. but doing it helped me loose 20 pounds and I completed the 5k in 35 minutes.

I kept up running and ran 3 miles twice a week untill this summer started.  Having my kids out of school and doing some traveling got me out of my routine, but it's time to get back to it, So I am starting this again, with a goal of finishing my next 5k in 30 min.

My wife will be doing this with me this time which will be interesting because she shattered her ankle 7 years ago, and had reconstructive surgery.  Since then she has put on 40 lbs, so this will be tough for her, but I figure doing this together can only help.

Take a look at the link, and let me know what you think.

We survived Week 1 Workout 1.  Tuesday night, and will be on #2 tonight.

Check out the Link and let me know what you think...

Nice. That 9 week workout really helped you lose 20 pounds? How was your diet during that 9 week span?

ad1260-  I lost about 15 pounds during the program, and another 5 the month or so after words.

No major diet change outside of portion control, and laying off soda and sweets.

Week 1 Workout 2 complete...  Will complete Work out 3  Sunday night... As I will be attending a wedding this weekend...

One thing I have noticed is that even though I am not making a real diet change, Working out makes you think what you put into your body...

Anyways so far so good, will post again on Sunday night.

I used to run a lot, 4-6 miles almost daily, and I think the starting and stopping friggin blows.....

If it works for you, great, but I hate it. I also think laying off of soda and sweets is a large diet change. You should just avoid them all together.

Do you use an app to log everything?  I've done many personal 5K's lately.  Personal goal is to complete them in under 55min 55sec.  Runtastic is my app of choice, with everything it does, it's a modern day miracle for this 42 year old.

Yea if you can run 4-5 miles a day this is not the workout for you.... More for people just starting to workout...

There are apps you can buy to track your workouts, but I just prefer the old stopwatch..

I did my first workout of week two tonight, and I am feeling prety good.

For me this is something to get you started into a routine of working out. Its good to have a goal. I have signed up for a 5k in October.
