So she didn't roll a 7 for 154 rolls, or atleast after she made the point? ? what the hell are the odds of that ever happening?

#3 Posted: 5/25/2009 8:20:44 AM Yeah I know how these hot rolls go, the dealers start SLOWING the game down and there are a bazillion players etc.
150 rolls should take 90 minutes max, of course they try to kill the momentum by slowing the game down.
Congrats to her!

#5 Posted: 5/25/2009 10:01:09 AM Let's say she started with a $10 bet - how much could she have possibly won? No way she would just let it roll each time...

#6 Posted: 5/25/2009 10:11:41 AM I bet she made a few K..maybe more.
When shooters get hot, often other shooters will toss money or make bets for them..maybe not in cheapo-AC but in Vegas Ive seen it many times.
If she DIDNT make 1-2k off a 4 hr roll then she needs to never play again.

what if she didn't win at least a K, probably why the casino didn't want to release the winning amount (save her from the embarrassment). Wonder how many 6's and 8's were rolled during the session.

#14 Posted: 5/25/2009 8:48:42 PM Since it was only her second time to shoot craps I will bet she did not take full advantage, probably just played the pass line, no come bets. Either way she probably came out pretty good and the experienced crap shooters probably made a fortune. I would have loved to have been involved in the game.

Yep..who knows how many points she shot and given the roll count and duration, there was a ton of time in between rolls.
Imagine how full the table was with chips when she finally 7'd out?

Wow. Wow.
Do they have Fire bets for craps tables in AC?
If she bet the Fire prop, thats an automatic $1000 - $5000 token right there.
Her 2nd time playing craps, i'm sure the other players at the table "schooled" her on the Place at least, if not the Put and Buy bets.
And i can't imagine all the hard-aways she rolled.
The reason it took that long for 150-plus rolls is because the Prop bets took up all the time. Besides the fact that the table would have had to reload a few times also. |

rickster, I was waiting for you to post.
If that is the case, why during a hot run does it take FOREVER to get the dice to the shooter?
Even when there is no action on the junk bets, dealers seem to flip the dice around almost begging for C/E, hardway and horm bets..to a point that it ticks me off.
If it takes four plus hours to shoot 154 times that means someone is too slow.

They might have slowed the game down a little but probably not that much. there was probably so much money on the table that it probably took some time to pay it out after each roll. Most dealers have a good sense of the odds that come up regularly i.e. 18 back on 12 but after 100 rolls and people pressing their bets, it wouldn't be a quick calcluation. Add in that people probably started to get creative with their bets given how much they were ahead it probably slowed the game down.
I played at a table once in AC and plopped down $200 and a guy rolled for about an hour and 20 minutes and I made about 4K in that time (mostly on pass, come bets). During the time, the casino had to import more chips to refill the take. I talked with a pit boss after the roll and the guy said they probably paid out over 250K in that period. I couldn't imagine what the Borgota lost in 4 hours - my guess would be a couple million. |

#24 Posted: 5/26/2009 12:47:57 PM Every stickman runs his game to his style and what the house wants, the house wants rolls as many as possible in the least amount of time, that being said the game can only be dealt as fast as the players play, in the middle of a hot roll you might have a 1 unit presser taking his $36 six to $42 and slowing up the game, even though that particular press is the easiest in mankind, I have had players with $120 six and press it $12 to $132 If the players are playing a lot of prop action mostly all dice games come to a snails pace. Any dealer worth his salt is not asking and begging for props as they can turn ugly on you real fast. The house rule usually is that all stickman will ask for props during the come out roll and after the point is established for hardways. So it's a double edge sword between what the house and dealers want. I worked at the Flamingo Hilton were all line bets and odds bets, come and place bets went into a common craps pit tip pool and the props were table for table so we hustled the props hard there Number of reasons why wallstreet I dunno where do you usually play, I could go into a triade about the quality of craps dealers in Vegas now but that is another story of why I am slowly leaving the casino business 25 years later |
