I'm a long time lurker of covers and have cashed on the WNBA for the past 3 years when all is said and done on my plays. I have never seen a season, especially in the last 2 weeks like this before.
First, Turasi doesn't play for Phx then goes to Olympics to be leading scorer and then comes back to Phx and is too fatigued, then has dental appointment, then is lightheaded and cannot play thus abandoning her team and city. Disgrace.
Second, league leading scorer McCoughtry (the WNBA's version of Ron Artest) goes awol and sits in stands one game and ultimately gets her coach fired and then is suspended from team in very next game by new coach. This sticks in my craw b/c Meadors has done more to develop the WNBA than Angel ever will and she gets fired on her BIRTHDAY, are you kidding me what type of person much less owner fires a legend on their birthday? The ownership of Atl is now the biggest joke in the WNBA. In one fateful monday they have taken a team that competed for the Finals the last 2 years and not only insulted and humiliated a long time respected coach but sacrificed their fan base and future. They allowed Tulsa to get their 1st road win. Nice decision Atl. Good luck from here with LA, Ind, Sea and Minn thrashing your once proud franchise. I cannot wait for Chicago to hire Meadors and thrash Atl, big bet.
Last, Tulsa who has fought all year long with rookies awaiting "Slammbage's" return find out tonight after they beat Atl that Cammbage did not board her flight to Tulsa from Australia and is done for the season because she doesn't feel like playing. What?
Did any of these chicks get the memo that this is the WNBA and not the NBA. They have a small fanbase at best and will alienate them if they pull this prima donna crap. Sorry Angel, you are not Kobe. It is affront to GM's, coaches and fans and owners (except for Atl, love to see how they are trying to spin this now, wow you girls are stupid). Get real, you are fortunate to have a paying job where there are 500 people in the seats. Unbelievable how the player has become bigger than the game in every sport nowadays. Just paves the way for Minn/LA, nice marketing.

As for Angel, I think I saw in Covers that she couldn't play because of personal reasons. Then, when I checked Twitter, she was like promoting or telling her fans that she'll go clubbing before or the night of the game day.

McCoughtry's play disgusts me as. The announcers flick her bean the entire game saying that she is "playing hard". She plays hard when the action comes to her, other than that she is observing the game. She yaps at the referees and I don't blame the new coach for suspending her a game. Players like McCoughtry, who essentially quit on their teammates deserve no place in even the lowest level of leagues.
I wonder how the WNBA prices compare to that of European leagues, maybe a member of that side of the world can spread some light, but I know you can find courtside seats for $70 in Seattle. Shit, $70 is a fucking taxi ride home in Vancouver. The funny thing is, I see empty seats every game.
It's a god damn shame leagues come to this. The inevitable will happen and various markets will lose their fan base and eventually have to fold.
@javin -- I can attest to that. I read the exact same thing. You know she doesn't give a fuck if she posts that shit to twitter.
