When was chael close? You mean just by getting the fight?
That was a crazy card. So many potential DQs, no contests. You just never know how they are going to rule those things. I was on pins and needles when bisping poked belcher
I thought jones was pulled off early although it was inevitable it would happen soon
Nice to see country lay off absolutely plowing Kongo with one more shot

No man the toe break. Did you get to watch the post-fight interview? Jones snapped his big toe during the fight, like a NASTY break where the skin was split open and it looked like his bone was poking out or something. He didn't even realize it til the interview with Rogan.
So if Chael had survived those last 20 seconds, Jones wouldn't have been able to continue for round 2, the doctor would have had to stop it.
And I can't believe Kongo got caught with that god damn punch once again, lol.

When he did notice it though he was about to pass out and had to sit down, I think he or his corner would have for sure noticed it on the stool between rounds. Someone would see the thing and a doctor would stop it.. but I guess maybe it would have been a no contest in that case

That happened in another ufc fights about 3 months ago. Can't remember who. But he knew it was sticking straight up and still fought through the pain.
Would the doctor stop the fight? I doubt it - it's not life threatening
I had my two young nieces in room when I was watching it this morning. They both got a good glimpse but couldn't figure out what happened. Oops better turn that off now!

I remember that one as well.. was just reading Big John Mccarthy's twitter, he said that they will allow a fighter to continue with a broken finger or toe if they want to, unless it's a compound fracture (which is what Jones had)
Also that if they had brought the doctor to check it out between rounds, it probably would have been a TKO win for Chael and not a NC!
