Cormier/Mir - I give Mir a puncher's chance, and that doesn't bode well for him cuz his stand up is not great. It's not horrible either. No one will be able to take Cormier down, and he will be able to take anyone he wants down IMO. I'm not sure if Cormier's chin has really been tested yet, but he should have a pretty fresh melon having just started MMA. So Cormier at 34 does not show his age like a lot of mid 30's fighters may. Cormier by TKO in round 2
Henderson/Melendez - To me, these guys are VERY similar but Henderson's wrestling may be a little better and he may be a little bigger. Henderson by decision. I could see this being a snooze fest along the cage for 5 rounds. I hope I'm wrong.
Thompson/Diaz - Diaz's kryptonite is getting planted on his back, and I think Josh can do that. No prediction yet, but the underdog could be the play here. I also think he's saavy enough that he won't easily get subbed by Diaz.
Brown/Mein - once again a big test for Mein. Brown has improved at an amazing pace. Mein, the young stud can vault up the rankings if he can finish Miller and Brown in one month. leaning Brown
Larkin/Carmont - lean Carmont
Mendes/Elkins - Mendes has to be a huge fav - As much as I like what Elkins has been doing, Mendes is a solid #2. He's faster, prob stronger, prob has better wrestling
other leans - masidval, benavidez and dillishaw

Cormier over Frank 99 times out of 100. Mir is outclassed here, he gets hurt bad on the feet, has close to zero chance in taking Cormier down, and to top it off, loses in the cardio department.
As much as I like Gil, I can't see him getting the win over Bendo. Benson's wrestling is just too good, it gives him the upper hand vs 90% of the LW division.
Brown/Mein is the fight I'm looking forward too most. Both guys have incredible heart, Brown has that iron chin, unwavering attitude, Mein is part of the up-and-coming stars with a complete MMA game. Its going to be one crazy match up, but I'm with you, slight lean on Brown.
I'll probably go big on a Cormier/Henderson double. The odds for the rest of the card aren't out on my bookies yet.

Kind of agree w/u on both Henderson and Thompson here. I just feel like Benson is a better version of Gil. I feel like he is bigger, stronger, faster, more athletic...
with Thompson... Nate is so super high on Gil... "claims no one is stopping him" well, I just watched Thompson/Gil and I'm not so sure Gil won that fight. Don't hate the idea of taking the dog there, if Thompson gets on top for 2 of the rounds it could b a wrap. Tbh had Nate not done so will against Jim Miller recently this would actually be a bigger play for me.

Sawman... where are u watching FOX 8 at on saturday... it seems since we are both watching 8 and the rest of the world is watching UFC on Fox 7, that we may need to watch it together so the fabric of time doesn't tear.
