Frank MIr is a business man...he made damn sure he was up past the 1.5 round over/under. He made more than any gambler last night...I am pretty sure he has the best feeling broken orbital in the world this morning.
Bad fight...and yes it looks like lesnar will be back.

Are you implying that Mir bet on himself to make it over 1.5 rounds?
Absolutely. If you watched the fight, he only shot at Junior's legs one time.....the rest of the time he tried to stay outside, which even he will admit was a losing proposition.
As soon as Frank decided to box with JDS, forget it. Immediately after the 1/2 round was gone in the second, Mir loosened up his hands and went for broke knowing he was fucked anyhow.
There are no laws against betting on yourself in a fight. Many fighters do this.....I think Mir knew he was over matched, but also knew how to survive long enough to get paid...My point is he should have crowded the shit out of Junior and made it a jujitsu contest just like he trained to do.....ah well.
That silva/sonnen fight is a dandy for july........

You.... Are an idiot. He's lucky he made it that long in the fight as it is.
Your denial that it is a distinct possibility that Mir had one eye on the clock shows your dullness.
I never said that Mir took a dive......far from it. I said that he was overly conservative in his approach until that over was in. No doubt JDS overmatched him in the standup...but to only shoot once in the entire first round was ridiculous.
And calling me an idiot isn't very nice.

Honestly the fact that you continue to think this means you're a bigger idiot than Sawman originally thought.
Where exactly do think Mir got down any meaningful amount to "fix" this fight? You understand no one in Vegas offers round props, and the offshore limits are extremely low right? Like less than 5 dimes low....
Consider he made a disclosed $200k for the fight as well.
Honestly, you're a complete moron.

FYI, there are plenty of ways to get money down on fights besides the casinos in Vegas....and the books based out of Europe have much higher limits on props than the internet books most of us frequent.
Your use of the word "fix" is not accurate. Mir adopted a strategy to survive a few rounds instead of executing his plan to his strengths. The fight was not fixed, but it was fought in a specific way. That way gave big Frank a great shot at being on his feat at the 1.5 mark of the 2nd round.
I seem to have struck a nerve with you guys on suggesting that Mir (or parties associated with Mir) may have had interests in how long the fight went. Frankly, I am surprised that it has but so be it.
