What was that out there? friggin awful. Defensively it was a good performance but I regretted the Carson Palmer deal when it happened and continue to do so. He is simply a bad QB. He had a few good years way back when but is now terrible. The Bengals absolutely robbed us in that trade. Now we don't have any 1st round picks.

This offense is simply sickening. When McFadden has his yearly out for the rest of the season injury in week 3-5, this team is just going to be awful.

Thoughts?

Btw Matt Leinart and Terrelle Pryor

I'm a giants fan but as a nfl fan I don't think highly of Palmer at all. I think Pryor has some good stuff, very good stuff he should be the future of the raiders. He needs a lot of improvement! I think pressure got to him tonight. But he can become a very good quarterback and I think he would do better than Palmer for sure after he gets some more play time.

I agree Pryor looked better than Palmer and leinart. He didn't look great just better than those bums.

Raiders best and longest tenured players are always Shane Lechler and sebastian janikowski. That says it all

I saw Raiders receivers dropping passes like the ball was a greased pig....  I was pleased as punch with a tie in the first half thinking Pryor would get me 6/12 and no such luck...

I can't stop laughing over this comment. Good one sir
What I am saying is out of the 3 raider qbs I saw tonight, I see the most FUTURE promise in Pryor, he didn't look good but I think he fits the Oakland team better, I think if he can learn to be more patient... He can develope into a good quarterback. I'm not saying he blew me away and he is the next great quarterback or anything like that at all. I just think he looks better than the other two USC blowjobs. That's all

I long for the days of Rich Gannon and Jon Gruden as a die hard. Tyrone Wheately, Charlie Garner, Napoleon Kaufman, Jerry rice, Tim Brown, hell even jerry porter. Man top offense in the league.

If Pryor is their future they may as well just join the lingerie league...........he was clueless.
The Raiders just continue to make fucked up qb decisions.

The under 7 wins is looking good, everyone in the division upgraded, except the Raiders. Throw in Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Atlanta, and Baltimore, plus some early East Coast starting times, and you have the perfect storm for this team.

What does this even mean? He'll look like him physically?  A huge fat behind?  If so, no.  Pryor will always be lean.  Or maybe you mean he'll look like him figuratively... as a bust? Russell was the 1st overall pick.  Yeah, he was a bust.  Pryor was a 3rd-round pick in the Supplemental Draft.  Nobody expected him to be a superstar.  Anyway, Pryor has very little to do with anything.  Maybe he can stick around if they create a Wildcat package for him, because clearly, all he is capable of doing is running.  He has zero accuracy, his footwork is terrible and he's pretty much a friggin dummy on top of everything else.  If they can't find a way for him to be useful, he'll be on the street.

This team will go as far as Palmer takes us.  We're stuck with him for better or worse.  I don't think he makes that ill-advised throw that got picked off if this were a regular season game.  You work on garbage in the preseason.  He wanted his receiver to go make a play.

I go back to the bad-behind Raiders of the 70s.  THOSE were football teams.  And since Kenny Stabler left, we've had two good QBs -- Plunkett and Gannon. Been waiting for another ring for almost 30 years now.  The wait will get longer, but I'm convinced this team is heading in the right direction.

Incidentally, I don't think McKenzie is a huge Palmer fan, so we'll probably start looking for our long-term answer at QB within the next two draft classes.

The good news: D-Mac is healthy!  And he looked fast and elusive in his limited action.  If he stays healthy, we WILL put points on the board.  The WR corps is as deep as I can ever recall. (Letting Murphy go to Carolina for a late pick is a clear signal of that.) The O-line is a young, nasty, underrated group of snotblowers, and the zone-blocking scheme is perfect for McFadden.  Same garbage he ran at Arkansas.  One cut and out the gate.

The defense has been the HUGE question mark over the last several seasons.  Allen is the man for the job.  He is a defensive specialist, and he'll put our guys in the best schemes to be successful.  The 1st-team defense looked fantastic tonight.  The D-line dominated and the LBs were flying around.  The back end is a big concern, and has been since Nnamdi left.  That will continue to be a work in progress and the main headache.

We have the best special teams in the league, as far as PK/punter combination goes.

But most importantly, we have a real general manager now.  I loved Al, but speed speed speed is the only thing he cared about.  Al would take a fast guy and try to make him a football player. Reggie wants football players, and if they happen to be fast, that's a nice bonus.

OAK is 9-3 in the AFC West the past two seasons, so we are taking care of business in-division.  It just got tougher with Peyton going to Denver, but I like the challenge.

@ vegasflyer1 - their non-division schedule also includes tampa, clevland, carolina, jacksonville, miami.... all non-play off teams from last year.... They will likey go 3-2 at worst in these games, 3-3 in their division, and atleast 1-4 vs non-division playoff teams, putting them at 7-9 on the year. worst case for raiders is 6 wins, best case is 9 -7. i would bet over 6.5 wins with juice before i bet the under 7

The biggest mistake for the Raiders franchise is drafting Jamarcus Russell over Calvin Johnson.

Raiders have the 18th toughest schedule this season based on last seasons records.

They play just 5 teams with winning records last year, only Atlanta and Pats play fewer at 4 teams with winning records.

Trying to reach any kind of conclusion about teams after 1 preseason game is 100% completely useless.

Trying to reach any conclusion about anything in the entire preseason can be useless as we see year after year teams go 4-0 and then tank the regular season and vice versa.

TheRaiders will be one of my surprise teams of the year.........................................

When McFadden goes down, so will the Raiders.
