No, but how about focusing one game at a time.

#16 Posted: 8/11/2012 1:20:45 AM Really?? Zero chance? They made the playoffs last year and they have improved. I would say they definitely have a chance. Probably not good enough, but they are certainly better then the Raiders! Enjoy Palmer and the Bengals will enjoy the Raider picks they gave up to get a QB that doesn't care and throws too many INT's. Believe me, you will hate Palmer after about 5 weeks. |

#17 Posted: 8/11/2012 3:59:23 AM Lundegaard I can't understand your insults.
E-Muffin of corse they have a chance. They were god awful 2years ago and than last year came out and played way better then any one would imagined. You never know with this team. So there is always a chance, but their schedule isn't that easy this year either. I would be shocked if they make the playoffs again. Not that they aren't better but the schedule is pretty stacked. Plus Dalton showed struggles toward the end of the season, hope he comes back throwing darts again this year. |

#18 Posted: 8/11/2012 6:11:00 AM New to covers but a Bengals fan and we are definitely going in the right direction after years of misery. We've put together about 4 or 5 good drafts, got a some good coaches on board (Jay Gruden, Paul Alexander on Offense, Mike Zimmer, Hue Jackson on Defense) and we play in an AFC North which may just see the Steelers and Ravens average age catching up with them a bit.
I think the Bengals will finish no lower than second in the division and make the playoffs back to back for the first time in 30 years. |

#19 Posted: 8/11/2012 9:48:12 AM Denson - I hear ya, but Dalton came in as a rookie without camp basically, new system, new WR corp, new coaches etc. and still led his team to the playoffs in a brutal division. Bottom line is they didn't beat any of the tougher opponents last year, so if they are going to take the next step they have to do so. I still expect them to make the playoffs though and possibly win the division. It's not just me either. Saw on ESPN they spoke with 3 so called experts and 2 predicted Cincy to win the division and the other said they would come in second. We will see, but bottom line is the original post on here was stupid. I would hope every team in the NFL has that goal. |

#20 Posted: 8/11/2012 2:48:41 PM Ya Dalton and the offense should be improved. But did you see who the bengals win against last year? Their oppenets that they won against went a combined 43-85. They played really bad teams. This years schedule is a lot harder, I see them starting out 5-2 and dropping off when they hit those teams. Hahah what ESPN guys would take the Bengals over Pitt or Ravens? Getting old? These teams are always rebuilding through the draft, they are two of the better teams in the NFL. Both teams have better defenses, running game, QB's ect. There's gotta be a third place in the AFC North and that's the Bengals sorry. |

#22 Posted: 8/11/2012 4:34:53 PM I don't get? Challenged because I don't believe the Bengals will make the playoffs and I'm from Ohio. I'm from Ohio and love my browns and cheer for the Bengals over the steelers or Ravens( my two least favorite teams in the NFL), but I gamble so that's being honest with what your team really is. So because i'm from and live in ohio I have to back someone up that says the Browns or Bengals will win the AFC north? I don't bet or think like that with sports, sorry not challenged. |

I don't blame Palmer for not caring when he played in Cincinnati.....He had lots of bullshit to deal with there....He might just surprise you how good he plays with Oakland this year.....He is happy where he is and he definately has some weapons. Nov 25th Oakland is in town and I hope he smokes the Chincy defense,,, |
