Why are People Blaming Lee Evans?

  The defender made a great play knocking the possible touchdown away. I would venture to say that most receivers would have also gotten the ball knocked away. Hell of a defensive play..

True...but he relaxed once he caught the ball which allowed for that great defensive play to happen.

i lost some money by him dropping it, but i don't think it was his fault... would have been an incredible play to make the catch, and the defender just had his hand in the right place at the right time...

tough loss for the Ravens, that's for sure...

or, knowing he caught the ball in traffic and you have to hold on to the ball through the entire play, he could have kept two hands on the ball on such a big play.

It hit him in a bad spot. Right in his hands. How's he supposed to catch it there? If it was his paycheck or some blonde box, you can be sure he'd have held on to it.

I'm still perplexed as to why that wasn't reviewed. Evans had possession with two feet down BEFORE it was it knocked out of his hands.  That's a TD in my book.

I was wondering the same thing.  Assuming he gets both feet down the play is instantly over and the TD is scored.  It's not as tough he was going to the ground and needed to retain possession.  I guess I don't understand the rule...

I believe the ruling is the WR has to make a 'football move' after the catch and/or has to retain possession until the end of the play.

Bottom line is Evans blew it.

i think he should have hung onto the ball, nice play by the db, but still. can't blame the loss all on the kicker. it is a team game. shit happens. pretty good game imo.
