The Saints vs 49er's reminds me of Houston Coogs vs Penn St.

Question

You know how the line came out Coogs -5.5 and everybody jumped on the defensive juggernaut known as the Penn St. Lions. How could the Coogs even compete with the Nittnay Lions and their awesome defense. Penn St. after all is big time and their D is one of the nations best. The Coogs offense will surely get shut down and their swiss cheese defense wont be enough.

Then of course the Coogs absolutely destroyed Penn St. The final score was no indication. The Coogs let up starting in the 2nd quarter and started punting fourth down and inches on Penn St. 35 yd line.

ANYWAY....This Saints vs Niners game totally reminds me of it. I see the same thing happening. But then again I thought the Coogs would destroy S. Miss.....

I know there are a million reasons why these two games are totally different, I am just talking about the feel I get from Covers people and the sports coverage of the game.

Listen Einstein, I said the feel of the game and matchup and the way covers and sports television was talking reminded me so much of the Penn St vs Houston game. I am saying Penn St. big bad Defense just like SF and Penn St. inept offense just like SF. And I am saying Coogs offense crazy good just like Saints. Hey PeeWee, I agree with what our saying and I watched and bet that Houston game with the under. You MAKE a good point and it could very well end up like that. I like New orleans to cover as I think eventualy they will get up on SanFran, and force SF to try and score TD&#x27;S instead of kicking field goals. I do think SF will play well and have great D but think New Orleans ends up pulling away later in the game. It will be a great game though. What are you thoughts on the other games? and Good Luck with your bets.

I am very tempted to do a 3 team 10 point teaser with the Saints +7 the Texans +17.5 and Giants +17.5. The Giants one is the most scarey cause if they get down at the end of the game they may give up and give up a cheapie to make it a 21 point game or something. But Baltimore should win but can't see them winning by more that 17.5.

The flip side to my Houston vs Penn St could be that Hawaii versus Georgia Sugar Bowl a few years back. Remember Hawaii had unstoppable offense but Georgia smacked them to pieces. Although Georgia was favored by 7.5.

I don&#x27;t think it&#x27;s the same for two reasons; that game was played at a neutral site and two performance is relative. I capped penn st/houston at 34-15 houston, fairly accurate, but applying the same system I get 29-17 49ers.

I was not trying to compare the actual players or coaches or indoors or outdoors or neutral site or college to pros, etc...I was saying it sounds the same from the covers threads  and espn/sports talk standpoint. And by the way PSU had a great defense according to everybody until after that game. Then it becomes decent. And the coaching problem, etc.... Everybody&#x27;s an expert after the game.

In fact Saints never scored less than 20 all year. Saints only have 3 losses. All on the road. One to open the year in Green Bay and no weight will be put into that other than they scored 34 points in a meaningful game. Well a game they were up for I should say. On to my point......

Other 2 losses game to St. Louis and Tampa Bay. Two of the worst defenses in the league and offenses for that matter. So we can do two things.

1. Say that maybe Orleans isnt really that good on the road because of how they perfomed against these teams. Or...

2. Say that maybe Orleans just didnt get up for these games. Maybe they took these games off. I mean common these are argubly the 2 worst teams in the league!

I am going with #2 and putting a lot of weight into it. Good Luck!
