To start, the Pats are going on the road for the 2nd straight week and going cross country this week...which I love to fade and time has shown this is a tough spot for any team. I only see the Raiders getting this many points because of the Pats popularity action they will get regards from the public.
Raiders are at home for the 2nd week coming off a win in which they looked solid and have some momentum on their side, I do not see any let down in sight. The Raiders have a good offensive line and blocking game that is supported by a top 5 RB in McFadden who gets help from Bush who does not miss a beat and can pound out any short yardage along with a QB who can control the game & keep defenses honest. So far this season the Pats have tackled like a high school JV football team, not to mention they have given up 440+ yards in each game this year. I see the Raiders picking up all those important 3rd and shorts along with the goal line plays, which will lead to longer drives and control of the clock for the most part.
I know Brady is a machine and will get some for his own in some way or another but why can't a team figure out to stop the underneath passing routes and the TE streaming down the field?
The two fundamentals of football are Blocking & Tackling and I give the edge to the Raiders on both in this one. And if you want to base it on a common opponent: they have both faced the Bills in Buffalo and lost by the same amount where the Raiders actually scored 4 more points....I like the Raiders at home with the 4.5 points this week.
Raiders +4.5
More to come...
