I like buffalo actually, and i have a bet for them to win over 5 games this season which is looking fantastic now... BUT, people are talking superbowl and really overhyping them up. Lets get realistic here. They are ONLY 3-0... I would still be surprised if Buffalo made the playoffs. Actually, i will even say it right now, BUFFALO WILL NOT MAKE THE PLAYOFFS!!
I actually hope im wrong here, i bet the pats to win the div at -167 but i really do wanna see buffalo make the playoffs because they are the closest NFL team to where i live and i do like buffalo and want to see at least a game or 2 there this season...
So Buffalo, prove me wrong, lets see if you can make the playoffs...

I wouldn't start calling superbowl, but they have a good chance for the playoffs this season. I think they're going to be that surprise team that kicks ass all season then blows it in the playoffs.

There's a very very good chance they make the playoffs.
Baltimore already looks like they've locked up the north. Pitt has worse o-line problems than they had last year, and Ben is WAY off his game. Still a possibility for the wild card, but I seriously doubt they get more than 10 wins, and more likely 9-7. Cleveland looks like at best an 8-8 team, and Cincy, while playing better than I thought they would looks like a 5-6 win team.
Houston already looks like they've locked up the south. Tennessee without Britt? No thanks. I see them at 7-9. Jacksonville might get to 8-8 just 'cause they play Indy twice who look like a 2-3 win team.
San Diego is starting slow as they always do, but will take the division unless Oakland surprises. Denver is very shaky, and will probably end up at 8-8. KC is another 2-3 win team.
So the way I see it, there are 9 teams that have a shot at the playoffs:
Pats, Ravens, Texans, Chargers win the divisions.
Bills, Jets, Steelers, Raiders fight it out for the wild card.

i agree with most of what you are saying except the first part where you said they have a very very good chance to make the playoffs..
by very very good, i assume you think the bills are at least 60% or more to make the playoffs. so -100 or more.. i would hammer against that . I still think they are a dog to make the playoffs.. i agree with you that those teams u have listed win their divs, so only 2 remaining spots left..

this is covers.com where everyone likes to live in the moment. i could easily see buffalo going 2-6 their next 8 and thats giving them credit for beating philly and washington at home which will be no gimme's. they will be flat this week and probably lose against a dangerous cincy team who can actually play some d. then they have a brutal 4 game stretch of playing the jets at home then a rare back to back to back road trip against dallas, miami, and the jets...just a brutal scheduling spot for any team. so lets check them out after that stretch and see where they are.

First off, I don't know of any books that carry playoff props midseason, but if anyone knows of one, I'd be very interested.
MoneyShot, I do think that the Bills have at least a 50% chance of winning the wild card. First off, after looking at schedules, I do think those four teams in the wild card discussion are the only teams that have any shot at the playoffs. The fact that the Bills own the tiebreaker over the Raiders could be huge.
The only reason the Steelers are in the discussion is that somehow they've managed a ridiculously easy schedule. The fact that they play the NFC West and AFC South is ridiculous. At least their extra games should be a split though (KC and NE). If they end up at 10-6, it will be purely because of their easy schedule. They need to win all four games against the NFC West, split the AFC South, split their extra games, and go 3-3 in division. Personally, I think they're going to go 9-7, splitting the series against the Bengals and Browns and losing both to the Ravens.
It's my opinion that the Pats win the division at 11-5, and the Jets and Bills both get wild cards at 10-6.

that was in response to Werker by the way.........for the record, I don't think the Bills make the playoffs either
I have looked at their schedule. And they almost blew a game to arguably the worst team in the league because they could run at all on a weak run defense or stop the run by a weak run offense. It was kind of an embarrassing performance. But the biggest thing to look at from last night was the fact that their o-line is AWFUL.

Just came across this little fact (from Adam Schefter): The history of teams starting 3-0 in since the NFL realigned its playoff format is that 76 percent of them make the playoffs.

yeah but a lot of those teams were probably teams that were playoff bound before the season started.. A lot of those teams were probably favorites to win their division and so on...

ive seen books in the past offering futures (playoff props, division winners and so on) as late as 'before week 3'. I was hoping someone would see something out there in the online world lol. So many weird props;/futures offered sometimes... I bet in buffalo, there has got to be a bookie or some random guy offering buffalo bills playoff odds..

i give mad props for the bills being able to comeback being down 21 to the pats, that was awesome but i would still hammer anyone offering me -100 to -200 odds on the bills NOT making the playoffs.. As quickly as they have won 3, i think they could easily lose 3 in a row at any time in the season too..
I still think the Jets will finish higher than the bills and the steelers will also get a wildcard.. Bills will probably finish at best 9-7 which wont be enough..
