Alright fellas.  Finally finished up my 2011-2012 NFL Season Preview and my futures wagers.

good luck with PITTSBURGH super bowl loser rarely does well the year after. i am not playing it but wishing you luck with this play. 

I don't think a 'typical' superbowl loser ever has a schedule like Pittsburgh's this year.  I think that trend (even if it's accurate) is irrelevant in this situation as Pittsburgh is returning most of their starters and has actually gotten better.  Most SuperBowl losers get worse in the following year...

GL!!   I am looking at 2 futures...over 6.5 wins -165 for MINN and MINN makes playoffs +230.

i am a die hard minn fan for 25 years. i would take you minn +230 allday and everyday.

there are no easy games in this division.

a very important factor that you left out in your SF wager is that mike singletary is no longer the coach.

 

this guy was horrible.

 

not as bad as mike tice, but very close.

     Most Super Bowl losers aren't dynasties either.  Pittsburgh has been REALLY good for quite some time, has won two SB's and been to three, and may win one or two more in the next few years.  Injuries really is the only thing that will stop this team from competing for another Lombardi this year.  Ben is determined to get there again, and I think many of his teammates are as well.  He knows how to win and he's good at it.  Add to that, they have a sound formula for success:  Defense and running game.  Not to mention that their front office seems to know what they're doing.

     I really think there are a couple teams that you can bank on having a successful campaign year in and year out.  Right now, I throw the Steelers, Pats, and the Packers in that group.  I really can't see these teams being unsuccessful any time soon.  They are all great franchises that have great players and sound, successful methods dating back many years.  They're not going away any time soon.

Agree.  You can add "dynamic passing game'' to Steelers this year.  I think they'll really open it up this season and it will make them even better! Really like the way Pittsburgh looks this year.  I truly think they could win it all!

Matt Millen wasn't a coach. Just a shitty team President and GM.

I just made couple phone calls,,, pinnacle still has it at 1.787 (which is roughly -127),,, a lot of locals have it at +10/+05 ,,, other off shore books still have good odds,,, -150 is way off from what i see and just found out from sports books

Pittsburgh I love...and I am absolutely riding that train with you....echoed a lot of the same feeling in my preview thread.

San Fran I disagree with simply because of Alex Smith.  Schedule does help them...but it's tough to win in this league without an above average QB.

Cincy UNDER 5.5 wins seems too easy....great pick.

NFC East we have pretty similar...I'm a little higher on the Eagles, but 10 wins is certainly reasonable.

NFC North we have just about the exact same as well...Packers and then the rest

NFC South I have the Falcons/Saints flipped...but still very good...I dont see a way in hell the Panthers win 6 games.

NFC West nobody cares about...but I like the Rams over the Niners simply because they have a QB who proved himself in his rookie season and they brought in some decent weapons.

AFC East I like but I don't have the Pats w/12 wins because of their defense.  Ranked near the bottom last year and didn't really improve unless you want to count Haynesworth as an improvement

Definitely agree with the AFC North as well...Steelers should run away with it.

AFC South is going to be the hardest division to cap IMO with the injury to Peyton.  Titans and Jags riding the rookie QB's will be the big difference because I don't see Hasselbeck and McCown doing much.

AFC West is right on...you must have copied my predictions on the Chiefs!!  I see a huge fall w/them as well

Pitt moved up to 11 at my book so i'm not sure if I should pull the trigger.

Excellent writeup Bodio...I was waiting to see this. I'm kinda in the same boat with CMJohnson1 and the Rams...but haven't figured out who I'd take...although great value on SF. Pitts to win...can't argue with that schedule. Only gives them more time to practice until the real season starts in Jan. Tks again for all yur hard work!

BTW, NFC west is the worst in the league.. not the AFC west, IMO.

i dont think millen was ever a coach. i still remember a game last year when dingleberry flip-flopped his qb's during the game and then consequently yelled at both of them. i read his autobiography and he used to go to parties and bring a book. like he was too good for everyone else. this guys ego was as bad as that douchebag childress.

Damn Bodio I hate to see you so hard on the bears! My team as well but they did get to the championship game with a shitty oline last season- and losing to gb is more motivation than the vikes can muster up this year with all discpline and other probs last year -mcscabb does not have it anymore imo- agree with you on stafford stayin healthy bein huge for det- but the Lions need more than a nice loookin young roster and a healthy staff to convince me>> most of all i agree with you on the schedule what a beach of a start for the bears
