One of the biggest rules for betting on sports is to leave your heart out of it. But sometimes that can be hard to do – especially when one of your sworn enemies could hoist the championship trophy in your own house.
As a Dallas Cowboys fan, you feel like you’re in constant competition with the other historically-successful franchises in the NFL. Teams like the San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, New York Giants and Green Bay Packers are constantly measuring themselves against the Cowboys and visa versa. However, in recent years, Dallas has fallen off as the league’s top franchise thanks to the play of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Pittsburgh has won two Super Bowls in the past six years while Dallas has failed to meet its overhyped expectations in that span. The Steelers have won six Super Bowl titles to the Cowboys’ five and could pick up No. 7 inside Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas this Sunday – a stadium built with a Dallas Super Bowl XLV title in mind.
Some would even claim that the Steelers, not the Cowboys, are now "America’s Team" – a title given to Dallas by NFL Films’ Bob Ryan back in 1978.
Of course, things didn’t pan out for Jerry Jones and Cowboys this season. And now, instead of becoming the first team to play in a Super Bowl it's hosting, Dallas is forced to sit back and watch the hated Steelers climb another rung higher, right in the heart of Texas.
Like a good sports bettor, I’m removing that disgust from the equation and taking the field goal on Pittsburgh. That way, if the Steelers do end up claiming their seventh Super Bowl title on the big star, at least I can dry my tears with the money I’ve made.
Do you think a Steelers Super Bowl title in Dallas is salt on the wound for Cowboys fans?

Pittsburgh Steelers owner Art Rooney dismissed the suggestion that the Steelers were "America's Team." "'We didn't want that,' Rooney said. 'We're Pittsburgh's team. We feel strongly about that.'" [14]
In an ESPN.com article titled, "The Great Debate: 'America's Team'," four sports writers stated their case as to why three other teams besides the Cowboys could lay claim to the nickname of America's Team. [15]

As a lifelong Cowboy's fan, and one who saw them lose to the Steelers in 2 superbowls during the 1970's, I understand the question.
Having said that, a Steeler victory in Dallas is not "salt in the wound" for this long time Cowboys fan. That feeling is certainly helped by the fact that the Cowboys beat the Steelers in the 1996 Superbowl.
The Steelers are a CLASS organization and have earned my respect throughout the years.
History tells us that it is unwise to bet against the Steerlers in the Superbowl.
So here it is: Pittsburgh +3 All Day Long!

glory days for Cowboy fans is a thing of the past...> the past is all they have....(also the future with EGO-maniac GM Jerry Jones is very bleak) .....therefore a Steeler win would be painful to over half of die-hard fans I assure you.....most are even pissed especially about Pittsburg players (from those 70's teams) outnumbering Dallas players in the Hall of Fame
It is better to be feared - than to be loved.
