Super Bowl XLV Breakdown

The Good- Aaron Rodgers has been solid all season and in the playoffs.  Packers ranked 5th in passing offense this year and should matchup well vs Pittsburgh's 12th ranked pass defense.
GB's pass defense was impressive this season.  Also ranked 5th in the league, they should be able to cover Roethisberger's long ball, and the short stuff in the middle.  (PIT ranked 14th in the league in passing offense)   
The Bad- Rushing the ball will be troublesome for GB.  PIT was 1st in stopping the run this season, only allowing an average of 62.8 yards/game.  (The 2nd best CHI Bears averaged 90.1)  Even though James Starks had success in the playoffs I doubt he will be able to muster much of anything vs the Steeler's D.  

Pittsburgh:
The Good- Pittsburgh's strength will be running the ball, and should establish it early.  Steeler's ranked 11th in rushing in the regular season and 3rd in the postseason.  They matchup well vs GB's 18th ranked rush D.  (Packers allowed an average of 115 yards/game in the regular season.)  Everyone knows PITs defense is unreal, ranked 2nd in the regular season in total defense and 1st in the playoffs, this will be GBs toughest test to date.  Also, Pittsburgh has the big game experience... 3rd Super Bowl in only 6 years.
The Bad-  The offensive line could be a huge concern.  With rookie probowl center, Mike Pouncey, injured and likely out, combined with a rotating door at right guard this season, and Flozell Adams being as old as they come, I think GB could have a big advantage.  Roethlisberger was sacked once every twelve dropbacks during the regular season and once per six drops in the playoffs.

Pick: GB Packers -2.5 (1.91)
I gotta go with Aaron Rodgers and the Pack.  This is a tough game to call and will only be a small wager for me.  I think that Green Bay's defense will be able to get after Roethlisberger and create turnovers.  I dont like Big Ben and I love the "Championship Belt" style celebration.
