Very impressive win for the Jets. First handling Peyton Manning and then Tom Brady with ease. Congrats to the Bears for a Seattle whooping. Still surprised Matty Ice gave the game away at the end of the first half and the fact that Atlantas defense didn't show up.....or did they and A-Rod is that good?
Crazy game in Pittsburgh.....the stagnant offense of Bmore did them in. 94 yards through 3 qtrs won't get it done....Had the chance to step on Pitts throat but couldn't......
now down to business.
Chicago +4.5 (B1) Green Bay UNDER 44
Due to a great weekend, I will lay some juice down for this game and grab the key number of 4. Green Bay is hot. They have fast become the public darling. IN MY OPINION Chicago should be a 1 point favorite in this game. I'm sure some disagree but that is just my personal thought. The books are also sick and tired of giving Green Bay more than a touchdown in teasers. Green Bay destroyed Atlanta and Philly........or did they? Philly had a chance to win with only a few minutes remaining on the clock....The way I remembered the next game, Atlanta was about to take a 21-14 lead almost going into halftime.......Matty Ice throws a pick in the endzone. Green Bay took quick advantage and put 7 up on the board. Then with 8 seconds left in the half, as most of you know, came the back breaker, a pick 6 putting Green Bay up 14 going into the half. Atlanta shot themselves in the foot over and over again.......Climbing the up hill battle will kill you 9 times out of 10 when playing a superb offense........Perception vs Reality. Perception is that Green Bay put a whooping on Philly and Atlanta. The reality is that both of those games were close. The reality is that Philly was one pass away from winning. The reality is that Atlanta was going toe to toe with Green Bay until the 21 point turn around......Now take all this into account we get a line of Green Bay -3.5 at my local?? No F'in way. One huge difference between this game and the previous one in Atlanta is this game will be outside in the elements. This will slow down that dynamic receiver core of Green Bay. Maybe there will be wind, which favors the better running team Chicago.....This game is divisional also. Chicago is well aware of their little tricks and gadgets. The home team getting 4+ points too? I can't pass that up. I will be rooting for Green Bay, they are my team once the Bills get eliminated, which is normally week 5. I see a close battle here decided by 1-4 points.....As for the total we have the "due angle".....but more importantly this will be a battle......2 good defenses going at it....I see 3-4 field goals here helping this stay under the number. I feel that the total is 3 points too high......I will add more on this shitshow later on......
Pittsburgh (waiting for Line) over the Jets
Local is at 3.5 now. Since I live in the NYC area I will wait until the Jets fans man up and bet that line down for me......Don't give me that "Sanchez did great and the Jets beat Pittsburgh at home" crap......Sorry not buying it, throw it out the window. These are the playoffs now. Sanchez has looks like dog shit. Yes he has made 2 or 3 good throws, but a blinde squirrel finds a nut ever now and then right? It took 2 qtrs, but Pittsburgh got the cobb webs out. They came out in the 2nd half and played Steeler football vs Baltimore. The only advantage I see in this game for the Jets is coaching......Nothing else......in strictly my opinion I think Pitt has the better run game, passing game, better QB, and better defense. Argue if you'de like.....Maybe the stats don't support this but I think its reality....Unlike the past 2 games, the Jets will have to see a real defense. Not the young dumb kids from New England and not the small speedy defense of Indy......they will play with the big boys now with a Superbowl appearance on the line......Good luck Sanchez, you will need it......
No clue on this total......need to look into it some more...

Real surprised with your thoughts on Sanchez though....he threw 3 TD's on the road in N.E and also made big passes when he needed to down the stretch @ Indy. I think people are forgetting or overlooking what he's done in back to back road games against two strong teams. Sure, when hes nervous he struggles but I think he's got that swagger about him right now and I really do not expect nerves to be an issue against a team that they already beat on the road very recently.
Agree with your Bears pick. Cutler has to play perfect football and I think he will.

I like your picks Bruce......I totally agree that Sanchez has major problems coming......California pretty boy meet my friend MRHarrison Woodley and a much more involved Polamalu!!!!!! The injuries to the offensive line for Pitt will hurt the running game and the Jets will test them with some sucess. The absence of Brad Smith Hmmm is very noteworthy.....I would be surprised to see as much trash talking this week with a Defense aka Harrison that would easily take a 15 yarder for a nice crack at Sanchez.....The BUS may be retired but Sanchez is gonna feel like one is on Defense.......Everyone knows Pitt can step their game up in the playoffs where the Jets already are maxed out....... Leaning toward the under in this fist fight. PS Bobby Fischer rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree with you on the Bears. First though was to pound GB after the Falcons game but when I sat down and capped this game I started to lean Chicago. They already have one win against the Packers at home and one can argue that 10-3 was a meaningless game for ChiTown. Their offense can be contained when faced with a good defense. They are 3 and 5 on the road. Bears have been just as impressive over their last 10. Home team getting a FG and a half pt. Sign me up. Probably gonna toss a unit on the ML as well

I am not sure where all this love for the Steelers comes from. I am a Jets fan and I somewhat agree with your comments (I think the Jets have the better overall defense IMO) but how did the Steelers somehow morph into the 2007 Patriots overnight. Their O line is dismal. Their offense is somewhat stagnant. They haven't beaten a team with a winning record other than the Ravens since September 26th (TB). It is going to be a close game I think but I can't really see any reason to think the Steelers win in a landslide?

I haven't overlooked what he has done......Sanchez did make some throws you are right......but he will have to make 3-4 times the amount of good throws in Pittsburgh......I see alot of 3rd and 10+......and Im banking on that working out real well for the Pitt defense.....I see at least 2 picks coming out of Sanchez on Sunday

Agree with the Chicago angle.....but I think you have a little bit of the homer angle in you for the Jets game........Steelers haven't morphed into anyone.....They are still the Steelers and that only. I will be playing the fading Sanchez game.......simple as that......This game can be broken down to one thing.....Big Ben vs Mark Sanchez.......

Good stuff, Bruuuuce78. I'm definitely on Pittsburgh, but being from here I'm always real careful when it comes to their games. I'm no homer when it comes to my money. In the 1st New York game, everybody is aware and points out that Polamaulu didn't play; what's less often noted is that Heath Miller, also, didn't play, as he was out with a concussion, and it was his back-up, Spaeth, who dropped what would have been the winning TD. Also, I think the kicking game will be big here in the winds of Hienz Field, but I'm not sure if Pittsburgh has a clear, if any advantage. The Pittsburgh kicker, Suisham, missed a 42 yarder, then converted one from a similar distance. He came to Pittsburgh, as I'm sure you know, mid-season, so he has no experience kicking in wintry, play-off conditions here. His over-all history is not all that good. The Pittsburgh punter is also a newcomer having come in a few weeks ago. On the NY side Folk has got to be having confidence problems as well, I plan on checking on him and the punter. Any info you can pass on would be appreciated.
Didn't mean to get so wordy on your thread and I'll probably do my own later in the week. I've followed your picks and comments and have much respect for your insights. Congrats on your success in the play-offs up to this point, I hope it continues for you.

excellent points on Troy and Miller......Thank you sir........Looks like there is no advantage for the field goal units for either team.......or any kickers when it comes to Heinz Field.....Just watch and enjoy your boys advance to the Superbowl

Bruce, did you see some of Cutler's throws? The kid worries the hell out of me every time he drops back. He very well could of had 1-2 picks, especially that one down by the 2 yard line, that would have been a pick 6! If they get down in this game and Chicago has to throw the advantage totally favors GB.
