These non-football players and this silly freak show FG kick should not be the difference in a 60 minute rock 'em, sock 'em NFL football game!
i mostly agree with you but punting and kickoffs are part of football right? I will agree that it sucks losing to a FG in OT or at the end of the game. Some teams win w/o ever scoring a TD, they just play field position and kick FGs all game, playing it safe, kind of makes poor entertainment value when teams play NOT to lose by taking no risks...

How is it weird? It's been a part of the game since it was first developed. Different parts of the world have their own versions of the game football.
It's part of the game that dictates strategy and in no way will it ever be eliminated. The better your kicking game, the better your team's chances are to be successful. Conversely, the better your team's ability to block kicks or impose pressure on the other team's kicking unit, the better the chances the "real players" ,as you say, have to play their roles and win the game.
Yes, kicking a field goal isn't as impressive as driving the other team's defense the length of the field and crossing their goal line, which is why you're only rewarded 3 points for it. Seems pretty fair to me. If your team is losing because of a field goal, maybe they should have extended their lead a little more and forced the opponent to cross the goal line. ![]()

Field goals add complexity and several layers of strategy to the game. You really don't understand football too well if you think this
Many football games would be like a game of soccer when its tied 0-0 - HORRIBLE
And I lost cash on NO in overtime when Hartley choked, does not change my opinion of field goals. Part of the game dude.

I know u are frustrated but it is crazy to consider changing the rule..there is no way you can take it out of the game, all of the nfl history would be fucked cause that would change the whole landscape of the game..
you said you dont think kicking is part of the game so what about kickoffs and punts too? should we take that out?
