Thomas Jones had 2 VERY productive years as a Jet. Why sign LT? The Jets should have kept Jones. He is a much younger back. I'm not talking about years......either. I'm talking about tread on the tires.

TJ wore down whe the jets needed him the most and I think thats why he is in KC now...LT should have no problem finding success as a NYJ...yes he has more carries then Tj did but LT is probably a little upset with SD and may want to prove his worthiness this year. TJ will have a hell of a time running in KC....that offensive line isn't even close to the Jets o-line. It's kinda a latteral move for the Jets but LT adds a little more threat in the pass game TJ did.

I don't think wore down is the proper term. Jones was bothered by a knee. If he was 100%.....The numbers would have been there. Jones was nothing if not consistent with the Jets. When healthy...obviously.

Jones will be missed but LT will have a great year behind that offensive line. Greene was great last year when he got time but the jury is still out. Hopefully he can stay healthy this year.

thomas jones had much less wear and tear on his body for being the same age as LT
not sure how i feel about this move yet...depends on leon washington's health and also the first day LT cries on the sideline, i hope rex cuts his ass
I don't like the move either, wish they could have just kept Thomas. He would have only been 500K more, and in the uncapped offseason, I dont mind paying that at all. No ceiling. But they had to disrespect TJ and cut him -- after that, he was not coming back. (but he knew enough to not go back and join Eric in clev, lmao)

I also have a feeling that LT is going to be whining, because we all know Shonn Greene should be the RB1 next year, but Tanny has been very careful not to publicly say that since we brought in LT. As if to make sure he doesnt disrespect LT.
If Leon stays, which I think he will at that second round tender, i think youre definitely correct that LT will whine like a bitch when he's not getting 10 carries/game.
The locker room loved TJ. TJ loved the locker room, and wearing a Jet uni. He can't break the big one anymore, but he still has excellent vision and can hit holes -- a great short yardage back and someone you want in the red zone. No one remembers who sealed the game in SD on that 4th & 1 carry.....
