How will the Titans do in 2009?

How do you guys think the Titans will do this year after losing Big Al.  As a Rutgers student and Titans fan, I couldn't be happier that we drafted Kenny Britt as a big-time WR that has been missing from the offense.  The defensive line concerns me a little bit because of so many untested players stepping in at tackle, hopefully Jason Jones and Marks will be able to fill in

not sure if the Titans will be good enough to make it back to the playoff considering the fact that every team in that division has improved and the Titans is still being led by Kerry Collins. 

 

I gotta call this guy out because he knows nothing about pro football and he should not be posting this bogus nonsense on a betting forum. (granted he has a 50% chance of being right but some comments are so off base they need to be reigned in)

 

First and fore most, he talks about the titans stomping on the steelers towels. This is by far one of the dumbest reasons i have seen some one bring up as a reason for one team beating another in a game. Seriously you are asked how the titans will perform and you bring up shit like lendale white stomping a towel? REally?  I would like to read that betting hand book you took your tips from especially the chapter that states towel stomping leads to a team losing.

 

Regarding the actual game that the titans played and actually beat the crap out of the steelers forcing about 6 fumbles (recovered 2 or 3, i am not sure about these stats but the numbers lie some where there with error margin of +/-1) Will parker i think had like 40 total yards on 20 carries or had an appalling average of less than 2 yards per carry. AND ALL THIS WITHOUT ALBERtAYNESWORTH, HE WAS INJURED ALONG WITH TWO OTHER STARTERS ON  THE TITANS DEFENSIVE LINE. (haynesworth, vandenbosch and another player whom i forgot didnt play)

So the steelers essentially got beat by a defensive line made up essentially of backups!! Backups not starters that will probably be healthy come game one vs the steelers.

 

The steelers couldnt beat the titans even when the titans didnt have any legitimate recieving threats, but they just drafted kenny britt who will actually be a better pro WR than Crabtree. (feel free to laugh now, i dont mind waiting two years fro my prediction to come true while you suck off the morons at espn telling you crabtree is the best thing since sliced bread, yet he has hasnt learned to run pro routes or even beat press coverage legitimately. (but you are too dumb to see how well the the texas tech system hides QB and Wr deficiencies very well) They also got a little known TE from South carolina, by the name of jared cook, he is only 245 lbs 6'5 and has a forty time even faster than crabtree . There isnt a single DB for the steelers who can cover him (I include polamalu who was embarrased by the raw speed of yet another rookie Chris johnson who zipped by him while holding the ball up to his face and polamalu still gave up the td.

 

And i will also remind all who read this forum faithfully and follow espn, the titans were similarly miss judged when they selected Chris johnson in the draft two years ago. He only went on to become the most explosive RB in the league that year, and being the only rookie to win a pro bowl berth..

 

in 2008 the titans leaned on their defense to get them to a 10-0 start. In 2009 they will unleash their true offensive fire power backed up by old Kerry collins who will have had his second full year as the starting QB. Most forget that collins has been the starter for this team for only one year.

 

It would be totally stupid to assume that this team would regress on offense with the additions  they have made.

 

REgarding the AFC south, i have to call out this guy again. He knows nothing about the division. The texans actually have a better chance of challenging the titans for the top spot. Only a foolish person would assume that with the changes the colts have had both at wr, rB and several losses in the coaching department that they have made improvements.. Matter of fact it is laughable..

 

how well will the titans do? I couldnt tell you, but i think they will be in the thick of things, and get a play off berth.  Dont be suprised if javon ringer, senderrick marks, kenny britt and Jared cook (all drafted this year ) make significant contributions to the team (just check out hemerdinger titans OC gushing all over Cook and Britt)

titans r +4.5 opening day vs  the steelers. If you are smart and know the first thing about football, you will just compare the two dlines and two o-lines  and bet the titans to cover this easy.!

 

Bet the titans over 9 wins this season.

The Titans are still going to have a very strong game.  Don't look back their run game and the defense should continue to be solid.  I feel the team will make the playoffs, no question, and might be able to max out at 10 wins if they manage to stay healthy.

Pittsburgh is gonna put it on the Titans. Period. And bookiekilla, if you honestly think the Steelers and Mike Tomlin isn't gonna use the Titan's disrespect last season as fire fuel, it's you that doesn't know much about football. I guarantee you Tomlin will have them watching tape on the last year's terrible towel disrespect all week leading up to the game. 

Let's see. Home opener for the Super Bowl champions on national TV against a team that openly disrespected them last season. The entire city of Pittsburgh is gonna be foaming at the mouth for this one and payback is a mutha. Pittsburgh is the most physical and ruthless team in the league, and there will be consequences, repurcussions and punishment handed out on Sept. 10th.

I may not post here that often, but i am seasoned gambler wno knows for a fact that no matter how many times tomlin shows Polamalu that video of Lendale white stomping the towel, it will not turn subtract even one half second from Polamulus 40 yd time. Which happens to be a complete joke to Chris Johnson who incidentally held the ball in Polumalu's face while zipping into the endzone and polumalu just fell flat on his ass and couldnt catch him.

Just calm it down... for an almost ''perfect'' team they were not so perfect not going to the SB. Point is made and was made when the Pats were having their perfect season... what counts is SuperBowl... did the Titans won it last year? No. Did they improve in the off season. No. Titans were good because of their defense and now they just lost major piece of it.. and don't expect a relatively ''unknown'' WR rookie to take the load of a poor offense! C'MON OPEN YOUR EYES FFS! Not saying Titans are going to be bad but I doubt they will be as good as last year.

DU4L, I may be biased as a Titans fan, but I would not recommend betting the under for season wins on this team.  The offense has one of most solid lines in football and they added Kenny Britt from my school to a sub-par recieving group, adding Jared Cook from South Car. as a weapon at TE.  The Defensive line will have adequate depth to keep players fresh and the secondary is solid.  I see the Titans with 10-11 wins.

If you knew anything about titans football you would know that any WR replacing the likes of justin mccareins is a tremendous upgrade. Even kenny britt may be raw, but he is an upgrade over that doofus.

Sure the titans lost a huge player on defense. But if you look at the last meaningful game of the season, the titans do have great back ups that completely annihilated the eventual superbowl winners giving up 3.5 sacks to just one rookie and were forced to in 4 or 5 fumbles. (i forget which) with an entirely rookie defensive line.

All this while the apparently irreplaceable haynesworth was on on the bench.
