What the Hell is going on here?  Have people lost their minds?  Who would do such a thing?

A gunman intended to assassinate a U.S. representative when he opened fire outside an Arizona supermarket Saturday, killing six and wounding 12 including the congresswoman, the local sheriff said hours after the shooting.

U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was in critical condition and unconscious late Saturday after surgery for a single gunshot wound to the head, a hospital spokeswoman said. The dead included a federal judge and a 9-year-old girl, authorities said.

Arizona Rep. Gabrielle Giffords was among the people critically wounded in the shooting at a public event in Tucson, and several people were killed, including a federal judge and a 9-year-old boy.

didnt want to read it because I know it is mostly rightwing/leftwing going back and forth and getting no where fast..

An assasination attempt takes out a specific target. This act was not an assasination attempt but the actions of a whack job.

It was a headshot.   The guy showed up at her event and shot her in the head.

you shouldnt get your views about fox news from the daily kos, thats not good....

i watch fox more than the other news networks and ive never once thought i was being brainwashed, or shown hate.  all the shows that have guests, they all bring in both sides of the issues so the viewer can decide for themselves what they want to believe.  i know its an amazing concept, but the fox haters all fail to even recognize this but laud shows on msnbc that will bring on exclusively left wing panels that do nothing but bash.

This is a free country last time i checked, so why dont you give it a rest.  When you got vile people like rush limbaugh speaking hate every chance he gets and sarah palin running her mouth and putting targets on politicians heads, this is exactly the kind of nutjob they create.  Maybe once you will realize these type of people are vile and disguting. The limbaughs and palins just to name a few dont belong in our society.

Your full of shit if you really think this was not an assasination attempt on the Congresswoman. He showed up at her event and shot her in the head. You think it was a coincindence that the day this wacko decided to go to the grocery and shoot a bunch of people just happened to be the same day the local rep was there talking to people?

I can't wait till they really dig into this guys' electronics and see what he was into and what his political beliefs are.

He probably got his beliefs from the constant brain washing and preaching of hate by the wacko extreme groups out there.  The tea party, Sarah Palin, rush limbaugh, etc etc etc.  When guys like this are feed this kind of vile hate everyday, they start believing it and then go off the deep end and do something awful like this. Stop sticking up for these groups that preach hate. Sarah Fuckin Palin putting targets on politicians heads.  Thats fucking disgusting, but i dont really expect much from the bitch anyways.

I'm not much of a Sarah Palin fan, but it is quite a slippery slope when we start to justify the actions of these lunatics by blaming it on political rhetoric.  There's lot's of extremists on both sides of the spectrum.  This guy happened to follow the right.  No reason to think a crazy person on the other side won't rear his head sometime in the near future. 

Plenty of people follow Palin and are in the tea party and aren't going around shooting Congresswoman

for someone who claims to not insinuate the the right is the one preaching hate, you only seem to point out things from the right.

wheres the hate when the daily kos says "Not all of these people will get or even deserve primaries, but this vote certainly puts a bulls eye on their district" and highlighting giffords name in a list of Ds?

wheres the hate when a dailykos poster calls for gifford to be killed?

Sarah Palin Unveils Target List for Midterm Elections

Sarah Palin has posted on her Facebook page a list of the Democrats she is targeting for defeat in the November elections. She says her political action committee will be "paying particular attention to those House members who voted in favor of Obamacare and represent districts that Senator John McCain and I carried during the 2008 election."

Here's her list of targeted Democrats: Ann Kirkpatrick (Arizona), Harry E. Mitchell (Arizona), Gabrielle Giffords (Arizona), John Salazar (Colorado), Betsy Markey (Colorado). Allen Boyd (Florida), Suzanne M. Kosmas (Florida), Baron P. Hill (Indiana), Earl Pomeroy (Alabama), Charlie Wilson (Ohio), John Boccieri (Ohio), Kathy Dahlkemper (Pennsylvania), Christopher Carney (Pennsylvania), John M. Spratt, Jr. (South Carolina), Tom Perriello (Virginia), Alan B. Mollohan (West Virginia), and Nick J. Rahall II (West Virginia).
