When discussing how much money the NBA and product companies make on the Olympics. HE WAS SAYING IF NIKE, ADIDAS etc etc and the NBA were making 100's of millions because of him and the other superstars everyone should make a cut. NOT HE SHOULD BE PAID TO PLAY.

I agree with Wade. People are so quick to jump down the athletes throats. Why do t people show outrage towards Nike, Adidas etc? They make a lot more than the athletes and the athletes are risking a hell of a lot more.

It should be an honor itself to play for your country let alone ask to be paid, He will be put up in 6 star hotels and his ass will be lavishly looked after yet the bastard wants to be paid for that??? He makes millions playing basketball in the NBA, thats wonderful and I am proud for him... but wanting compensation for competing in the olympics makes him an even bigger douchebag in my opinion... Representing your country in the olympics should be an honor....  very classless imo

I think you're the one who has trouble with reading comprehension. He thinks the players should "get a cut" from companies making money. That means he would be getting compensated. Nike and Adidas are making tons of money off the players.....and spending that money to advertise at the arena so the Heat owner can pay Wade to run up and down the court.....

Nobody is forcing Wade to play. He can say no and run a basketball camp and charge little kids crazy amounts of money if he really needs the extra cash in the off season.

I never heard Larry Bird or Michael Jordan ask for compensation.....

Moron? Start with the man in the mirror.

Once again, context.  He was referring to a cut of the corporate earnings.  Different than saying they should get a salary.

And I love all this high and might, "It should be an honor.  What a dick. He makes millions and he can't do this for free?"

Listen, folks.  You can't even fathom what it's like to be in his shoes. He's a good guy.  He has treated the game right.  He has answered the bell EVERY SINGLE TIME in the Olympics.  Now he's evil for just mentioning that maybe the athletes should get a cut of some of the money THEY HELP MAKE?  Get over it.

If college players don't want to play fuck'em. Hold tryouts at the playgrounds of NewYork,Philadelphia,Chicago, LA and if we don't win gold every 4 years , fuck'em.

1.  All NBA players invited to play in the olympics already have endorsment deals with Nike, Reebok, etc.  So anyone who says that Nike makes a killing off the olympics may be correct but they have already paid out to the players!!!!  Why the fuck should they pay twice? 

2. Wade has earned 85 mil already alone in NBA salary with just about as much left on his current deal.  That doesn't include $1 of endorsment or NBAPA money he gets.  At some point you gotta just say, I have enough and take the free hotel, flight, trip to Europe,  etc and rep for your country.
